"Preaching is God's great institution for the planting and maturing of spiritual life. When properly executed, its benefits are untold. When wrongly executed, no evil can exceed its damaging results."

"Despite the atrociousness of it, Satan really does have "little cause to fear most preaching." Most preaching in the modern church is completely devoid of unction. Pastors are too busy playing golf or racquetball to bother spending time on their knees. No wonder some pastors I've heard can more readily quote Dr. Laura then bible passages pertaining to prayer. It's disastrous. Satan need not fear under those conditions."
-A. Reavis

"After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone, and children sift through all we've left behind;

May the clues that they discover, become the light that leads them to the road we each must find."

Sung by Steve Green " Find US Faithful"

" The Lord has shown me that I can do anything, but that He has said, apart from Me ye can do nothing." "So it comes to this, that everything I have done, and can still do apart from Him is nothing!"

 Re:

How do we worship our God Wholeheartedly? To answer the question we must respond to the command...

Quote:
"If you love me, you will obey what I command." John 14:15

True Love is complete obedience ... half obedience is no obedience. If you love Jesus, you will obey what He commands. This is true love and true worship

 Re: Great Quotes 7

" Jesus defeated satan in Gethsemane and on the cross, not by directly confronting the devil, but by fulfilling the dstiny to which He has been called. The greatest battle that was ever won was accomplished by the apparent death of the victor, without ever a word of rebuke to His aversary!"

Francis Frangipane

 Re: Great Quotes 7

The Spirit clothed himself,
He makes the record say,
With Gideon, so he became
As nothing in the fray,
But just a suit of working clothes
The Spirit wore that day

 Re: How to Please God

How To Please God

How do you please God?
In many ways, of course. But what is the one way--a very basic way-- without which nothing else suffices?

What does it take to please you? What do you require, without which nothing else would satisfy you?

Is it not to be trusted?

What would you trade for the trust of your family, friends, peers, associates? If they wouldn't believe you--what else could they give you that would compensate?

Mistrust is alienation.

It is impossible to relate with those who will not believe you. To have your word doubted is humiliating. To have your promises refected is intolerable. Life without the trust of others would be unbearable.

What greater sin can we commit than to disbelieve God?

God deserves--and desires--our trust, our belief, our faith.

There is nothing we can do to please God if we deny Him our confidence and trust. Belief is the only possible foundation for a significant relationship with Him.

Some of us don't believe in Thee at all.

Others of us say we do, but we live as though we don't.

Some of us are too busy to give Thee much thought, except when we get into trouble; then we use Thee as a fire escape or life preserver, and forget Thee as soon as we're safe.

Some of us are secretly angry with Thee. Frankly, we feel we have been treated unjustly and we blame Thee.

Some of us see so much tragedy, so much injustice, so much pain in the world, that we cannot understand how a God of love could allow it.

Despite the fact that the Bible is filled with assurance of They unconditional love, concern and compassion, and Thou has promised never to leave us or forsake us, we choose not to believe Thee.

Forgive us, Lord. Help us to understand, to trust, to love and adore Thee.

In the name of Jesus, whose love for Thee and for us never fails. Amen.

(in the Senate, June 23, 1982)
