| Re: Greetings in Jesus' Name from Canada! | | Dear Sis,
Glad you're talking now too, not just listening.
I wish you'd elaborate on your testimony - it sounds so like mine it's scary, except for the blessing of having a Christian family!
As for Canada, the rest of us are not in Judah, and if you were out of Nazareth, I'd consider you blessed!
I know it's quite beautiful there - I used to spend summers up at 11,000 feet in Wyoming above Yellowstone National Park, and lower down was exquisite. Only thing I couldn't handle was the mosquitoes!
By the way, do all Canadians really end all their sentences with 'eh?', or is it regional, like 'I, mean, like, really!' is here in Southern California? 8-)
Glad to have you, you Beagle nut, you! _________________ Forrest Anderson

| Re: Mosquitoes and other evils. | | Okay, Mia, now send me a map, so I can consider living there! And I'm serious, too! Southern California is where I happen to live, not where I would like to, and my ministry is portable, being online.
Your trials were different in type than mine - there was no God in my family, and little love - Although baptised at 15, the church that got me that far forgot to tell me about tongues, and I came out of the water being expected to have that gift automatically. I babbled something to placate them, was scared out of my mind, and saw the faces around me as demons!
The devil used it to make that church seem evil, so I ran...straight to the occult! Add in childhood sexual abuse (blessedly from outside the family), I acted out in promiscuity as well, since it was the early 70's, and I believed what I was being told.
Alas, no one to protect me except Jesus, constantly coming back into my life with a steady pull on the fishing rod.
Then, after I prayed for over a year for peace of mind and contentment of spirit, God gave it to me, taking me out alive out of a deadly car accident, then one by one breaking off all the things I thought were good, my marriage (to a non-Christian), my career (Mortgage Lending, which I hated but was great at), my health, and much of my memories, until my old life was gone, and I could devote all my time to God.
All of it has been a difficult lesson, from before birth to now, but what a great blessing! And now that I work for God directly, I know why my life went the way it did, for how else can I understand what pain and trouble that others have been through? Obviously there is more I can't talk of here - it would take a book, and be much too boring, at least to me, and probably to others. (No polite kudos needed)
You forgot to answer about the 'eh?', so I was probably being rude. I am sorry if I was, but I have a tendency to facetiousness from time to time.
Anyway, glad to know about the mosquitoes!
Many Blessings,

| Re: | | UniqueWebRev, I was not offended by the "eh?" question ... it seems to come more from the people who live in Ontario (where I was born & raised, moved to the West Coast at age 16) so my speech is peppered with "eh" - my American friends laugh at me all the time because I type as I speak. :-) Did I answer your question?
Your testimony is amazing and I thank you for sharing it. I love to hear how the hand of God has sustained us even when we didn't acknowledge it.
Hopefully you can get this link, and see where I live - it's a beautiful island, and we can see the USA from certain points. I live on the top end of the Peninsula in a little town called Sidney. It's like a little slice of paradise out here - quiet, serene, unhurried. I love to walk the beach with my dogs and be in prayer and communion with the Father the whole time. I am so blessed to live here. God's handiwork is all around me and it is indeed an enormous gift from Him to live in such a beautiful place.

Here is a picture of what I am blessed to see as I walk along the beach with my beagles:
