No, not at all sister.

It's just from toiling about the classics I would guess, you tend to pick up words that are not in much use in our day. Here is the definition from Ye Old Websters 1828 Dictionary:

[b]Exacting
EXACT'ING[/b], ppr. Demanding and compelling to pay or yield under color of authority; requiring authoritatively; demanding without pity or justice; extorting; compelling by necessity.

More in line with "Pay particular attention to this."
