IPM is an interdenominational organization whose purpose is to train, equip and mobilize believers to pray for personal revival, spiritual awakening and world evangelization. A founding member of the National Prayer Committee, Dr. Sheppard served as Senior Associate for Prayer for The Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization for eight years where his responsibilities included training and motivating Christians worldwide to pray for world evangelization.
Prior to beginning International Prayer Ministries in 1986, he served as Special Assistant in Spiritual Awakening for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is an ordained Baptist minister and has spoken in over 100 countries on six continents and all 50 states. He and his wife, Jacquelyn, travel, teach and speak on prayer and personal spiritual growth worldwide.
