Topic:
Scripture(s): Galatians 5:22-23, 1 John 3:14-15, John 17:3

According To My Righteousness by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Psalm 18:20-29, 2 Corinthians 7:1, 2 Peter 2:21
Description: Dr. Thompson discusses the monumental lie that pervades current Christian churches that the purpose of Grace is to serve as an alternative to living righteously. Grace is being presented, he says, as an excuse to live however we want, yet still receive eternal life and blessing from God. He asserts that, as Psalm 18 says, God will reward us according to our righteousness. Rather than grace being an excuse for unrighteous behavior, it is the very power and ability to live righteously.

Attaining Immortality by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): 1 Corinthians 15:12-26, 1 Samuel 28:11, Matthew 27:52
Description: Dr. Thompson presents a very thorough, fascinating case for focusing our hope on the resurrection of the body instead of the ascension (rapture). He discusses why it is so important that we are raised from the dead, and how focusing on ‘gaining entrance heaven’ is actually counterproductive, since it bypasses the very heart of God and His grand plan.  Be Strong & Courageous by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Joshua 1:5-7, Psalm 1:1, Joel 2:2
Description: Dr. Thompson begins by recounting events from a recent trip, stressing the eagerness for youth to embrace what God is doing, as opposed to the reluctance of many of the adults. He takes time to elaborate on Psalm 1:1, quickly addresses “unconditional love,” and then discusses the Army of the Lord. All of this is within the context of Joshua 1, and the transition from Moses to Joshua. This sermon is much more practical than it sounds. (1 hr 7 min 9 sec)

Bearing a True Witness of God by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): 2 Corinthians 3:1-6, Romans 8:14, Revelation 12:11
Description: Dr. Thompson makes the case that the New Covenant is primarily a covenant of transformation, rather than the popular opinion that it is primarily a covenant of forgiveness. He discusses the differences and similarities between the old and new covenants. He discusses the difference between preaching and witnessing. He talks about how Jesus doesn’t judge us based upon what we believe, but rather based upon what we do and how we live each day. We witness by what we are and how we live, not by what we say. The second half of this sermon is very strong. (53 minutes 54 seconds)

Becoming a House For God by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): John 14:1-6, Isaiah 66:1, Acts 7:44-50, Ephesians 2:22-23
Description: Dr. Thompson touches on the difference between “going to Heaven” versus “going to The Father.” He addresses the problems with the King James word “mansion” in our understanding of what God is doing. He discusses in depth John 14:3. The “house” referred to in the phrase “In My Father’s House…” is not Heaven, but Jesus Himself – Jesus is the house of God. Not that Heaven does not exist, but it is not the goal. Jesus is the Father’s house, and He makes a place in Himself for us, so that we become a room in that house. This sermon is practical, and it will stretch your brain a bit. (49 minutes 36 seconds)

Topic:
Scripture(s): Romans 8:1-8, Galatians 5:16-25, Romans 12:1-3
Description: Dr. Thompson starts by defining “The Law of the Spirit of Life.” He talks about what the Holy Spirit is, and how the Holy Spirit gets confused with other spirits and feelings and gifts. He describes what can be done to foster spiritual maturity, so that we learn to tell when the Holy Spirit is active in our midst. He discusses very practical ways we can live by the Spirit. He says God will not have people who are not under law – the Holy Spirit is our Law. We are either under the Law of Moses or under the Law of the Spirit. (55 minutes, 58 seconds)

Being Made Trees of Life by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Ezekiel 47:3-7, Ezekiel 37:6-7, 1 Corinthians 15:45
Description: Dr. Thompson says once we hit Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has two main purposes in our life: one is to give us power to witness & minister, and the other is to give us victory over the sin in our life. He discusses in great detail the general progression of growth in a Christian’s life, as typified by the depths of water detailed in Ezekiel 47. This sermon focuses on “water to the loins”, which he says represents the struggles to put our own will to death, and shift toward God’s will in our daily life. (59 minutes 14 seconds)

Blow a Trumpet in Zion by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Joel 2, Colossians 3:4, Jude 1:11
Description: Dr. Thompson discusses the reasons for the Coming of the Lord – including His coming to cleanse His church. He mentions Balaam, Korah and Cain, and how they represent different types of people that are in every church. He asserts that there are aspects of Jesus that we, as a church, seem to know nothing about, especially the no-nonsense, fiery Judge aspect of Christ. When He returns, many in the church will be expecting to be swept away by “Good ‘ol Happy Jesus” but will instead meet Fire.

 Change by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Mark 4:1-8, Romans 14:17, Matthew 6:33
Description: Dr. Thompson begins by equating the Kingdom of God with “change.” He says that the Kingdom is not primarily a "place" but rather it is a transformation in what you are, inside and out. He discusses the parable of the sower, and the different types of ground. He covers very practical ways to tell how you are doing in Christ today. He ties the parable of the sower in with the fruit of the spirit. A very entertaining, informative and practical sermon.

Changed Into Christ's Image #6 by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Romans 8:29, Ezekiel 1:16, Psalm 68:15-18
Description: Dr. Thompson begins by discussing the fact that Jesus lives in the fire of God’s presence, and that if we are to be with Jesus where He is (John 14:3), we must be ready to live with Him in that Fire. Once we have been prepared to dwell in that fire, and for that fire to dwell in us, we can then go out and minister to lost mankind, bringing that fire and that life to people – it will flow out of us and bring life and light. Dr. Thompson says that is our eternal purpose in Christ – to be priests of God in His Kingdom forever. He discusses the unique unity that Adam and Eve shared, and the similarities with the unity that Christ and the Church are to have. This sermon will challenge you to look at your relationship with God in whole new ways (that sounds cliché, but it is very true in this case).

Changed Into Christ's Image #7 by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Romans 8:1-9, Romans 12:1-3, Proverbs 3:5-6
Description: Dr. Thompson says that Romans 8:1 is conditional – that we are without condemnation IF we are not living after the sinful nature, but after the Spirit. He says there are only two ways to live, two ways that you can approach any decision or action – either in the flesh or in the spirit. If you don’t live after the Spirit, you are still under condemnation. He discusses the difference between “the pursuit of happiness” and “the pursuit of righteousness.” He says the key to "living in the Spirit" can be found in Proverbs 3:5-6, “In all your ways acknowledge Him…” Dr. Thompson finishes by discussing some "big picture" elements, such as, why God created man as a response to the rebellion of the angels. Excellent sermon, very practical.

Cleansed by the Blood by Robert B. Thompson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Revelation 12:7-11, Ephesians 6:12, Psalm 149:6-9
Description: Dr. Thompson begins discussing the idea that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, etc. He discusses the dynamics of spiritual warfare, including the concept of “two armies” – An army of warriors (angels) and an army of judges (men). The delay in Christ’s return has to do with the fact that the “army of judges” is not ready yet, he says. This life of trials and tests is to form Christ in us – which makes us ready to judge and rule with Him. He segues into the purpose of the blood of Christ: it forgives our sins, it cleanses sin, it covers us (for protection), it nourishes the inner man, it deadens the power of sin over you, and it will literally remove the sin from you (at His coming). The sermon is much more interesting than I’m making it sound.
