Erlo Stegen (1935 - 2023)

Listen to freely downloadable audio sermons by the speaker Erlo Stegen in mp3 format. Used of God in the Zulu revival in South Africa. He helped found the Kwasizabantu Mission where a few thousand live on the mission doing work for the Lord. He shares a powerful burden for the purity of the Church and revival in the Church.

Many ministers have preached in their large conventions through the years namely David Wilkerson who enjoyed greatly the mission's work. They have established over 30 other missions around the work as a work of the Spirit of God.

Missing God's Promises by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Promises
Scripture(s): Revelation 12:11, Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Timothy 6:9-10
Description: If you are asleep spiritually the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes will come to the fore and be very alive in you. If you're asleep spiritually even a service where God is at work doesn't touch you, and you go out the same way you entered. The doer of sin is a slave of sin (John 8:34). May God wake us up. May we hear this promise from Jeremiah properly for it's a great promise in the Bible. God's plans for us is a good future. Hell was not made for people but for the devil and his angels. But if you cling to your sin then you too will end there. There are those who say they will never confess their sin to a person but such are asleep spiritually.

More About Jesus by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Jesus
Scripture(s): Psalm 69:9, Genesis 27:8
Description: There are so many in the bible who had this zeal in their hearts. A certain woman came to my mind and that is Rebekah. Listen to what she said when she wanted the blessing for her child. It was something beautiful. When she heard her husband was going to bless her oldest son, she said. "My son, Jacob, must take it. He must have the blessing." What did she do? She came to him and said, "Now therefore my son, obey my voice according to what I command you" (Gen 27:8). Here was a woman who wanted the best for her son. Do we have such mothers in our midst? She commanded him. She didn’t say you can choose whether you follow the Lord or not. You are old enough you can decide who you will serve. She had a zeal in her heart and she commanded him and he had to do it. When she heard that her husband wanted to bless the older son, she immediately said, "That the blessing must come upon my younger son" and she said, "You must obey what I command you to do." May God raise mothers again who have authority and say you must do what I command you to do. Mothers, is that your life? That you command your children and they do it?

 Our Father by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Prayer
Scripture(s): Matthew 6:9
Description: He taught us to pray, "our Father" and not "my Father". When you become a child of God you cannot say, "I serve Him in my own way - you do your thing and I'll do mine". Such a person is on the wrong track. When we are born again we become part of God's spiritual family. When Jesus' mother and brothers wanted to speak to Him while He was preaching, He replied "who is my mother, and who are my brethren?". Then He pointed to His disciples and said, "whosoever will do the will of My Father in heaven, the same is my brother and sister and mother". The spiritual family is much more important than the physical blood family. If your child is not in the will of God, you are far apart from him, while another child who serves God, even not your blood-family, is much closer to you.

Pentecost and Being Led by the Spirit by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Pentecost
Scripture(s): Genesis 24
Description: Abraham is known as the father of believers. There is so much we can learn from him. We are told that they will come from the east and west and sit together with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob at the tables of heaven (Matt 8:11-12). But what is shocking is that that passage goes on to say that the children of the Kingdom will be cast out! Every child of God should test and examine himself that he is not counted with those who are cast out of the Kingdom of Heaven. Abraham was 75 years old when God gave him a promise and told him to leave the land of his forefathers. And he left everything (Gen 12:1-4). We can learn so much from him. If we want to follow Jesus, we must also leave everything behind. But his father Terah wanted to go with him. He respected his father and allowed him to go with him. He was promised that although he was 75 years old and had no children, his offspring will be as the stars of heaven (Gen 15:5, 22:17, 26:4, 12:7). Abraham also took Lot along as a nephew and son, since he had no children of his own. It’s so easy to make a mistake. Lot was a very nice person and it was difficult for Abraham to refuse. They traveled as far as Haran and settled there (Gen 11:31). God stopped speaking to Abraham until his father passed away. When his father had died, then God spoke again to him to continue (Gen 11:32 - 12:1). When God calls you, don’t take anything along except what God says you should take along.
