Erlo Stegen (1935 - 2023)

Listen to freely downloadable audio sermons by the speaker Erlo Stegen in mp3 format. Used of God in the Zulu revival in South Africa. He helped found the Kwasizabantu Mission where a few thousand live on the mission doing work for the Lord. He shares a powerful burden for the purity of the Church and revival in the Church.

Many ministers have preached in their large conventions through the years namely David Wilkerson who enjoyed greatly the mission's work. They have established over 30 other missions around the work as a work of the Spirit of God.

God sent His Son; and now my eyes have seen You by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Jesus Christ
Scripture(s): Matthew 1:2
Description: It is one thing to be taught the Gospel, it is another when the inner being is enabled to see the Lord Jesus. When God reveals Him to you, then a change comes about which is brought about by the Holy Spirit. It is only then that a person is saved. As the saying goes, "salvation is not by education but by revelation". If the Holy Spirit reveals this mystery of Christ incarnate, born for us, then we experience the promise in Isaiah 9:6 "unto us a Son is given"; and then you can say like Job, "now my eyes have seen You".

God wants the total you by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Living Sacrifice
Scripture(s): Romans 12:1-2
Description: God has mercy on us each and every day. Whether you're a Christian or not, you are here by the grace of God. It is only His mercy that you are still alive. In Acts 5 we read of Ananias and Sapphira who died when they lied to the Holy Spirit. In 1Cor 10:8-11 Paul relates how the children of Israel were judged and killed when they committed fornication, murmured and tempted Christ. And these things happened to them as examples to us, so that we would be admonished not to do the same. If we therefore think of ourselves, the fact that we are still alive is only because of His mercy. God is gracious to you but if you carry on in sin you will be destroyed.

 God's Time by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Time
Scripture(s): 1 Peter 4:15-18
Description: God works among the lowly, who tremble at His Word, who allows Him to change their lives. God cannot dwell with evil, where sin abides. He wants to dwell with the righteous. Do you recognise God’s time in your life - it is a very special time. When Jesus approached Jerusalem and looked at it He wept, because they did not recognise God’s time for them.

Scripture(s): Hosea 2:16-20
Description: This is a marvelous word! This is God Himself speaking to people who continually trouble Him. They've broken their covenant with God time and again. They turned aside from God Who brought them out of Egypt with an outstretched hand and great power. Time after time they would repent, often half-heartedly, but then fall back worse than before. God refers here to "the names of Baalim" in their mouth - serving many Baals. You might serve many things, money, honour or pleasure. God says that He will make a covenant with them and the beasts of the field. What does He mean by this expression? There's a reference in the Bible that "you may not muzzle the ox who treads the corn", and it is applied in the New Testament to refer to those who sow the Gospel. So too these animals are a symbol of people.

 God´s provision by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Provision
Scripture(s): Mark 16:15
Description: God answers prayer, and when we are in need, we can go to Him with our need. Mr Moses Khoza also gave His testimony of how he had strayed from God, but God has shown him grace, granted him forgiveness of sin and even touched him physically. Before he came to KwaSizabantu he was in hospital and had a terrible experience. The people in his ward were very sick. One night he went to fetch himself some water to drink. When he came back to his bed, one of the patients begged him for some water. When he had fetched the water, the man didn't want to drink it, but asked mr Khoza to pour it onto his neck and chest, for he felt like he was burning. After that the next patient had the same request and then the next. It carried on for quite a while. The next morning two of the patients had passed away. God spoke to him through the incident, and he came to KwaSizabantu and met with the Lord afresh.

God´s tender mercies by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Mercy Of God
Scripture(s): Isaiah 40:1-2
Description: Jerusalem was in ruins and God's people were utterly vanquished by the enemy. Many were in captivity in Babylon. They realised that they had sinned grievously, and were totally despondent. And then God's Word turned from judgement to mercy. Consider this carefully, for it is applicable to our day too. There are Christians who have been taken captive and live a defeated Christian life, as we read in Rom 7, "For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do". They realise and acknowledge their utter desperate state, and have grown despondent. God has pity and feels compassion on His people who have lost their way and acknowledge their desperate state and cry unto Him for mercy.

God´s tender mercies part 2 - Preparing the Way by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Mercy Of God
Scripture(s): Isaiah 40:3-5
Description: Last Sunday we looked at the first two verses of Isaiah 40. The message of God's comfort and tender mercy is promised to His people. The continuation and explanation of this grace flows naturally into the next verses. This grace and comfort is through true repentance, as this text shows. When it speaks of the "voice of Him" crying in the wilderness it is a direct reference to John the Baptist but is not limited to him, for it is God's own voice that declares this message which brings repentance, faith, and glory (as shown in verse 5). King Herod, in a moment of intoxication and lust promised his lover's daughter (who had eroticially danced at the wine-flowing party) "up to half his kingdom". Her mother, with a deep-seated hatred against John the Baptist seized the opportunity to demand his head on a platter. She hated John for openly declaring that it "was not right for Herod to take his brother's wife". Nevertheless, the decaptitation of John, did not silence "the voice of Him". Even after the death of John this voice continued to cry out; as it does even now.
