Why is it so Hard to Pray? by Carter Conlon

Topic: Hinderances
Scripture(s): 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Description: June 12, 2007 - Our whole life is to be a walking, breathing prayer. Satan will oppose prayer because He knows it is our life line to God. This message speaks of 3 reasons why people stop praying. First, our journey and will are not in line with God. Second, unconfessed sin. And lastly, a wrong perception of what prayer is. Prayer is simply knowing the mind of God and moving forward in faith with Him. We can come boldly with an honest heart and agree with what He has spoken to us until He brings it to pass.

Why Should I Turn from Sin? by Carter Conlon

Topic: Forsaking Sin
Scripture(s): 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Description: May 17, 2009 - Salvation is not just forgiveness, it’s a way out of sin. Undealt with sin turns life into death and turns our life into something so much other than what God planned for us. Sin knows no boundaries and drives us farther and harder than where we want to go. How do we turn from sin? We turn from sin when we return to Christ and allow a living loving God to envelope us and break the power of sin in our lives. In Christ the deepest longings of our heart are satisfied. God is calling you to come home to Him!

 Wisdom's Cry by Carter Conlon

Topic: Wisdom
Scripture(s): Proverbs 8:1-5, Isaiah 11:1-4, Proverbs 8:22-30
Description: Wisdom cries out and utters her voice in the streets. Wisdom cries out to the simple ones so that men would turn from their evil ways and be filled with God’s presence. Wisdom has built a perfect house and this perfect house is the body of Christ. This house send forth messengers who have the same cry as does the heart of Christ for men that were created in the image of God. Wisdom is demonstrated in godly passion for the lost. If the wisdom of God has been planted in us then the passion in the heart of God becomes our passion.

 Wolves by Carter Conlon

Topic: False Teachers
Scripture(s): Acts 20:28-31
Description: Beginning with Paul's tearful warning in Acts 20:28-31, about grievous wolves entering in and even rising up from among the church at Ephesus itself, Pastor Conlon delivers a powerful sermon on wolves among the church of Jesus Christ and how to tell who they are. He explains how the wolves operate, seeking the weak, the naive, or the injured in the church, and how dangerous they are to the Body of Christ. Have a pad and pen handy, he goes through many scriptures, which will enlighten and exhort every believer. A warning every believer needs to hear, especially new believers.

Worship that Calls for a Sword by Carter Conlon

Topic: Worship
Scripture(s): Exodus 32:27
Description: Carter uses the text in Exodus 32, when the children of God made and worshipped a calf with the noise of war, to contrast false and true worship. There is a false worship that sounds like the noise of war and there is a true worship that only comes from being true to God. If we find that we are not walking in a true and honest worship, we must take a sword {the word of God} to that false worship and kill the false worship. Exo 32:27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.
