The Seven Churches of Revelation by Carter Conlon

Topic: Churches of Revelation
Scripture(s): Revelation 3:14-22, Isaiah 58
Description: This is a powerful message about the church of Laodicea and much of the Western church of this day. The message is centered on the verses between Revelation 3:14 to 3:22 Carter also uses verses from Mark chapter 4 to show the disciples fearfulness and lack of concern for others when they were in storm with Jesus in the boat. The church of Laodicea had the same lack of concern for others with the self-centered life that they were in. In Isaiah chapter 58, the message speaks of the fast that God has chosen instead of the fasts of pretence that the people of that time were doing. Like the church of Laodicea, the people of Isaiah’s day were living life for themselves with no concern or grief for the poor or suffering. With these verses the message went into a parallel with much of the church of today that looks for self-help books, or seminaries, or even counseling without seeking God or God’s word for problems. Carter encourages married people with problems to look to Ephesians chapter 5 for an answer to problems instead of the counsel of someone who suggests that all your problems are from your third and forth generation. The message ends with words about revival using the revival of Ezra where it speaks of the people weeping. Revival has a strange mixture of weeping and joy. In revival the hearts of the people are broken and there is remorse. The church of Laodicea did not weep for others.

The Shepherd Song by Carter Conlon

Topic: Shepherd
Scripture(s): Luke 2:1-20
Description: September 28, 2008 - There is a great revelation of God coming to this generation. This revelation will not be given to the self indulgent and the self seeking. It will be given to the humble person who desires to live their life for the betterment of others. God will come in the midst of darkness and reveal Himself to the shepherds who are simply looking after their flock. Suddenly the heavens will be opened and by the grace of God we will begin to reach out to those who are hungry and hurting. Suddenly our ears will be opened to the worship of Heaven and we will sing a song of trust and confidence in God. A song that says, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good will towards men." Our song is a living expression of trust in God.

Topic: Active Faith
Scripture(s): Exodus 4:12,Exodus 15:25,Mark 16:17-18
Description: This is a message on the rewards of being totally yielded to God's purposes and how he can use a surrendered vessel to liberate others. The signs are for those who yield to God, who consider it a holy commission to help the lost, seeking his kingdom. Their prayer is "thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in me as it is in heaven, Lord."

The Snare of the Satisfied by Carter Conlon

Topic: Laziness
Scripture(s): Psalm 40:11-17
Description: This is a warning against spiritual laziness, an important message for all believers. Don't lose the fear of the Lord. When God blesses his people they often become satisfied and turn away from daily dependence on Him. David's sin with Bathsheba is used wonderfully to illustrate this point.

The Spiritual Measure of Spiritual Success by Carter Conlon

Topic: Success
Scripture(s): Luke 15:1-7
Description: February 18, 2007 - As Christians we are left upon this earth to Glorify Jesus. We best glorify Him by allowing that which is the deepest embodiment of His character to be manifested in and through our lives. There is a longing in every lost person we come in contact with to come back to their Creator. Are our lives a manifestation of the heart of God? When we encounter people that God sends our way do they see and hear Christ in us? The purest measure of success comes when there is a true manifestation of God's love the individual people that God allows to come across our paths.

The Sudden Appearing of Christ by Carter Conlon

Topic: Second Coming
Scripture(s): Malachi 3:1-6, Daniel 10:8-12, Revelation 1:12-18
Description: February 15, 2009 - What is it like when the Lord visits His People? This sudden appearing will come as a strong inner voice of conviction. When the Holy Spirit comes we become aware of the ungodliness of our speech. The closer we get to the presence of Christ the more undone we feel and we are made aware of the grace and mercy that continually covers us. This visitation comes to gives us a heart for the poor and when the Spirit of God is flowing through us spiritual poverty is broken. Christ inside of us will heal us and give us fresh vision of the future.

The Supernatural Hand of Mercy by Carter Conlon

Topic: Mercy Of God
Scripture(s): Matthew 5:43-48
Description: July 13, 2008 - We must not set our hand to bring about our own justice. God will stop us when we are going down the road of bitterness and unforgiveness. When He leads us in the direction to love our enemies He will provide what we need to do it. God will simply put His hand of supernatural mercy in our hand and He will give us the power and love to wash the feet or our enemies. The Lord will fight our battles and bring about justice for us but will He find a willing heart to be merciful to our betrayers?

The Tabernacle Of David by Carter Conlon

Topic: Tabernacle
Scripture(s): 1 Corinthians 10:1-15
Description: April 13, 2008 - God will raise up again the tabernacle David. This consists of men and women who seek God in the manner that He deserves. These are people who willingly offer themselves entirely to the Lord and expect nothing back but His presence. God dwells with ordinary people who concern themselves with the depth of the need and give all they have for the cause of Christ. The Tabernacle of David is a people who posses the heart of God and then take His heart to a fallen humanity.

The Table and the Cross by Carter Conlon

Topic: Cross Of Christ
Scripture(s): Psalm 23:5
Description: March 1, 2009 - Our fallen nature can cause us to form an image of ourselves that doesn't represent Christ. The church that forms a false image will not endure when hard times come and they will abandon the journey of Christ to follow their own agenda. God in His mercy will allow this false image to be broken in pieces so we can go back to God and do things His way. When we are left with an empty shell and a cry in our heart that says, "God I am nothing apart from you", God will respond by filling us with His glory. If ever there is a time to cry out for the Holy Spirit to fill us it's now!

The Testimony of a Fixed Heart by Carter Conlon

Topic: Maturity
Scripture(s): Psalm 60, Psalm 198
Description: In this sermon, Carter compares Psalm 60 {a Psalm written early in his life} with Psalm 198 {a Psalm written later in his life}. He points out there is a similarity in both Psalms except for the beginning verses. Carter’s main point is that in David’s maturity he became a man of a fixed heart and is singing a song of victory in Psalm 108 instead of singing out a song of circumstances and difficulties in Psalm 60. In this message, Carter brings out promises that are in types that were given to David and are of course given to us too. We can wake up having a testimony of a fixed heart and singing a song of victory instead of waking up singing a song of our circumstances and having a testimony of the troubles around us. We can sing a song of victory and have a testimony of a fixed heart if we can realize that we have promises that God will give us the victory through Jesus Christ.

The Testimony Of An Honest Man by Carter Conlon

Topic: Honesty
Scripture(s): John 1:45
Description: Carter’s main point in this message is that when people come to Christ, they come as honest people, admitting who they really are. Two of Carter’s examples were people that had failed. One was the high priest Joshua, standing before the throne of God in filthy rags had failed to build the temple. The word picture about Joshua is a typical picture of Christ putting robes of righteousness on the sinner who comes to him. This priest in filthy garments, who stands before the throne of God and then being given clean garments is compared to a Christian, who in the honesty of who he or she is, comes to Christ and receives garments of righteousness.. Another person of failure was Jacob at Bethel, who in being a liar, really didn’t have the blessing until he admitted who he really was. In other words, when these two people came to and end of what they could do, they admitted their failings. Carter’s main text was in John 1:45, where a third example was the honest man Nathaniel. Nathaniel recognizes who Christ is when Christ describes Nathaniel by stating that he is a man of no guile who he saw under the fig tree. Nathaniel recognizes Christ when hearing this because he knew that Jesus was describing something that could only by said by the Messiah.

The Things Which Must Be Hereafter by Carter Conlon

Topic: Unsaved
Scripture(s): Revelation 1:9
Description: July 09, 2006 – When heaven is revealed to us we will begin to notice the tradgedy that awaits the unsaved and a cry comes into our heart for every lost soul. Jesus Christ wil write a testimony is us that wil cause men to be turned from hell to heaven.God will allow trials and seasons of loneliness to produce a depth of Christ in us. We must see the things that must be. We must see Jesus as the absolute victor over every enemy that comes against us. We must see Him as Faithful and True. He is King of King and Lord of Lords.

The Time Has Come to Face the Mountain by Carter Conlon

Topic: Overcoming
Scripture(s): Mark 11:20-24
Description: September 20, 2009 - Jesus faced the mountain of entrenched rebellion towards the ways of God. It is a systematic religiousness that made His ways unrecognizable to mankind. The wrath of God is truly revealed when He sees man create a system of religion that robs the sinner of the treasure of His heart. The whole desire of God is that His house would be called a house of prayer, and the doors would be open so the outcasts of humanity could come in and find satisfaction to the deepest desires of their heart. God is calling His church to get out of the board rooms and into the prayer closet and cry out to Him to ignite us with the fire of the Holy Ghost and begin to move in His power one more time. Can we believe God to cleanse the temple one more time and awaken His church?

The Unpredictable Pathway of the Spirit by Carter Conlon

Topic: Holy Spirit
Scripture(s): John 3:1-10, John 21:18, 1 Corinthians 2:14
Description: November 22, 2009 - There is a cry in this message that says, “Don’t be willing to live in mediocrity when the power of Heaven is at your disposal”. The Spirit of God will overshadow all our weaknesses when we choose to let God be God in us. The natural man sees things as unattainable because they are out of his control and he is not willing to let go of the reigns of his life. The spiritual man knows that in and of himself he has no strength but as he gives the reigns of his life over to the Holy Spirit he will step into the supernatural. We don’t have a plan but we will be carried into the future by the Spirit of God.
