(Godly Home) Part 8 - Wholehearted Households by Denny Kenaston

Topic: Godly Home Series
Scripture(s): Joshua 24:15, 1 Corinthians 16:15
Description: Brother Denny shares the last of six sessions of the visionary aspect of childrearing of how whole-hearted households affect the next generation. He goes into detail of what an ordered Jewish home like one Jesus or John the Baptist was raised in to raise the bar of our own expectations. "A man's family," Kenaston says, "is the greatest revelation of who he is. Are we too busy to raise godly children that will "hit the mark" someday?

As for me an my household
This is a wonderful message and of the greatest importance. There are so many in pulpits today that do not have their households in order, and it shows. We need to pray for this to change because divorce is rampant, even among those who minister the gospel. Paying a price is not popular any more, but is sure needs to be. Great message here. Our children are a gift from God and should be treated as treasure indeed. We polish our silver and put it in safety deposit boxes. We put our cash in banks to protect it. God gave us wholehearted lives to protect our children. We need to avail ourselves of this protection.

 Convicting and inspiring!
The examples of how Jews raised their kids according to the Scriptures are both convicting and inspiring. I have never heard that much detail of what kind of homes these were like that our Lord and the disciples were raised up in. A very strong word for our hustle-bustle day of devoting too much time to nothing and not enough time to the things that really matter in eternity, like raising children to love and serve God.
