| | Great Prayers of History by F.J. Huegel
Topic: | | Description: F. J. Heugel traces through the most significant prayers of mankind, starting with Moses and on through David, Ezra, Daniel, Jesus and Paul. 'Prayers are still making history,' he asserts, pointing to answered prayer in World War I of the British capturing Jerusalem and how in World War II 'God was at Dunkirk' in response to a national day of prayer. 'It isn't prayer,' Heugel reminds us, 'it's the prayer-hearing God.'

Good overview of significant prayers
|

I thought it was a bit slow the first half (though important points were made) but really caught my attention from Daniel onward. That was a good point he made about Jesus' prayer in Gethsemene being the greatest prayer of all time. The accounts of prayer of God helping the British people during the world wars is definitely worth a listen.
