Audio Sermons : Leonard Ravenhill :  Abraham and Lot

Abraham and Lot by Leonard Ravenhill

Topic: Worldliness
Scripture(s): Luke 17:32, Genesis 6:5
Description: The Scripture focus of this message is Luke 17:32, with references to Genesis 6:5, and others referring to Abraham and Lot (Gen: 13:12, 18:17 and multiple references out of chapter 19). There is a warning in this message related to the modern church, in that we have access to all that we need today to live in God's will, just as did Lot, his wife, and daughters, who willfully turned away, though they were closely related to Abraham. Brother Len quotes Romans 1 from Phillip's translation. Classic Ravenhill: "I'm angry with Lot. Wait 'til I see him. I'll tell him off, I'll tell you that."

Who will say Repent and meant it today... Ravenhill
Could listen to him all day and pray Father, give me a heart like this mans or Abrahams to please you instead of men....

 Good message
Typical Ravenhill. Worth the listen. Sheds light on many Genesis passages as well as "Remember Lot's wife." Not a disappointer.

 People want sugarcoated sermons
It's a good sermon where you can see that ancient people where not so very different then todays people. A good quote: The one thing we learn from history is that we don't learn from history. He has a good point there, we can see it in the Bible in Genesis 6:5 and later on after the flood. The things that happened in Sodom and Gomorra happened in Israel in Judges 19:22-26 Then we have Judges 21:25 "25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Its appearant that we have no king in these days, Jesus is not the king in our hearts. Its a good sermon to listen to and hopefully will make you think about your current situation. Hopefully it will change you and inspire you to lead a holy life. And not get stuck into troubles like Lot. I hope and will pray I won't get stuck like Lot and compromise to the world like he did.
