| | Do You Really Believe in Miracles by David Wilkerson
Topic: Miracles Scripture(s): Matthew 14:22-33 | | Description: December 4, 2005. We have got to believe more than ever that Jesus is at work in our lives doing miracles. If we only see Jesus as a healer or only acknowledge Him for His power and might we will fear Him but we wont necessarily understand His heart of compassion. We are good at giving people encouraging words , but what happens when it comes to ourselves? Do we have a heart that is hardened with doubt and unbelief?

| | The Aroma of Prayer by Jim Cymbala
Topic: Prayer Scripture(s): Matthew 21:12-13 | | Description: Jim Cymbala passionately appeals to the example of Jesus and the church in the Book of Acts as a pattern for prayer in the Church. In a day when more people are turning to crack than to Christ, he warns that real revival must have a praying people. When the church today is being inundated with technicians, specialists and methodologies, the answer is not in these but in the power of the Holy Spirit through believing petition. Cymbala closes by testifying to the God who answers prayer, sharing a very personal account of his wayward daughter brought back to the Lord in a glorious way.

| | Desperation by Vance Havner
Topic: Desperation Scripture(s): Matthew 18:20 | | Description: This short excerpt of a sermon is quite powerful and Vance Havner gives us examples of people who were desperate and in turn were used by God. Here is a select quote from the excerpt: "If I could get one church full of folks that actually believed that verse, "Where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there," [Matthew 18:20] I don't know when we'd get out of here tonight."

| | If You Agree by Paris Reidhead
Topic: Body Of Christ Scripture(s): Matthew 18:19-20 | | Description: Your understanding of the Christian Life, and especially your prayer life, will be challenged and revolutionized by this message. You will never hear this text again without remembering this powerful exposition of God's Word. From Matthew 18:19-20. What does it mean to pray/live/gather "in Jesus' name"? In this sermon, we look at what it truly means to be in unity with Christ and his Body. We find that there are five different groups in the organized church:
1) Those who have met the "forgiving Christ." That is, they have "accepted Jesus" primarily to escape hell, suffering, and punishment. 2) Those who have met the "utilitarian Christ." That is, they have found that God can help them get what they need -- their whole interest in Christianity is that they should be taken care of by faith. 3) Those who have met the "status-giving Christ." These have joined the Church because they wanted fellowship and to be around the people. Position within the group is also typically very important within this group, and any achievement is hailed as part of the "glory of God." 4) Those who have met the "emotion-satisfying Christ." Their whole purpose in Christianity and religion is to satisfy their emotional needs. They look for everything that will make them laugh, cry, or both. 5) Those "who have met the Holy God and the Sovereign Christ." They have seen their terrible sinfulness and have known forgiveness, their prayers have been answered, they have found status as God's Children, and they have been filled with the Joy of God. But in addition to all this, this group is living only for God's glory and to walk according to the Cross. Only this fifth group is the true Church of God.
Any attempt to revive or unite all five groups will fail, but the fifth group can truly be one and bring glory to God.

| | 06 Principle 2 - Where 2 or 3 are Gathered Together by Principles For The Gathering of Believers
Topic: Audio Books Scripture(s): Matthew 18:20, Acts 2:46, 1 Corinthians 5:4 | | Description: The genesis of a Church in Scripture is seen in this simple statement of our Lord: “For where two or three gather in My Name, there am I with them.” A gathering of believers where the Lord Jesus is present is the Church, even if there are only two or three believers there. When believers gather in smaller groups it allows the Lord’s people to meet more frequently during the week, even daily, as the early Church did.57 This provides the confidence and expectation to meet with other wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ, to meet with the Lord Jesus who is in the midst, to receive direction from the Lord and to benefit from mutual encouragement58 and prayers.

| | 77 Guidelines for Gathering by Principles For The Gathering of Believers
Topic: Audio Books Scripture(s): Philemon 1:2, Colossians 4:15, Matthew 18:20 | | Description: Dear brothers and sisters we are writing these practical guidelines on how to gather as a fellowship under the Headship of Jesus Christ not as rules but rather helpful ways forward for some. Any 2-3 brothers or sisters can meet in this way and start to allow the Lord to mature their gathering. We must have the simplicity of faith that our Gathering is unto Him and not for ourselves. Early Christians met together with a great joy at times because they were gathering with others who have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. So Jesus Christ Himself was the center of their unity. These simple guidelines combine many of the Principles found in the Principles for the Gathering of Believers volume.
