(Luke) 49 - Cleansing Of The Temple-Chap19 by Ed Miller

Topic:
Scripture(s): Luke 19:45-48, Jeremiah 7:1-4
Description: Ed offers 4 observations to aid in understanding this second cleansing of the temple, such as seeing it in light of Jeremiah 7, contrasting the outer glory with the inner corruption, and studying the background of the convenience animals. Jesus weeps over externalism, looking to Him in a lighthearted way, worldliness, mixture, and prejudice. He comes to flip over everything in our lives that is not Christ, then He can begin to teach us.

Getting Through Dark Days by Carter Conlon

Topic: Dark Days
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 29:4-11, Matthew 24:11, John 10:27-28
Description: October 5, 2008 - It is imperative that everyone who belongs to the true Church of Jesus Christ learn the voice of God. In these last days demonic voices will arise to deceive us and lead us into captivity. How can we know when God is speaking to us? First, the voice of God will never promise us peace if we are embracing the same value system of the world. Second, the voice of God will challenge sin. In the dark days ahead the people of God will be lead into the tender mercies of God. God will give us a heart full of confidence when we choose to live uprightly.

(Daniel) Daniel the Intercessor by David Guzik

Topic: Intercession
Scripture(s): Daniel 9:1-19, Jeremiah 25:11-13, Jeremiah 29:10
Description: Daniel 9 is one of the most incredible prophecies in the whole of the Bible because of it's accuracy in fulfillment, Daniel in this passge is reading his Bible, specifically Jeremiah, he reads about how the people of Israel will go into captivity for 70 years and realises he is living in the fullfilment of that prophecy, Daniel believed the Bible literally and thus the 70 years he read about in the book of Jeremiah he believed was 70 years in reality. Daniel is moved by what he reads and begins to intercede for the his people, he prays that the Lord would take this 70 years from the first move into captivity in 605BC and not 597BC. Daniel was the 'chief of staff' for Babylon and still had time to pray in this incredible way, he set his face to seek the Lord and begn to repent for the sins of Israel and he begged the Lord to turn away His anger from His people and for the sake of His own righteousness restore His people. The Lord answered Daniel's prayer.

Engraved upon the palms of His hands by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Protection
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 49:15-16
Description: This was the word God gave to Israel when they were in a very difficult situation. They were in exile in Babylon. At the time Jeremiah gave this word there were also other false prophets saying that it would go bad with them in exile. But they were false prophets. Jeremiah told them to be obedient and God would be with them and give them a hope and a future in the foreign godless country. So they went into exile and found it to be a godless nation. But God rose up mighty men of God like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. And they shook that nation through their lives and testimony and God's Word spread through that nation through their testimony. Not that they didn't meet up with difficulties, but as they remained faithful to God He delivered them and through it glorified God.

Missing God's Promises by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Promises
Scripture(s): Revelation 12:11, Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Timothy 6:9-10
Description: If you are asleep spiritually the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes will come to the fore and be very alive in you. If you're asleep spiritually even a service where God is at work doesn't touch you, and you go out the same way you entered. The doer of sin is a slave of sin (John 8:34). May God wake us up. May we hear this promise from Jeremiah properly for it's a great promise in the Bible. God's plans for us is a good future. Hell was not made for people but for the devil and his angels. But if you cling to your sin then you too will end there. There are those who say they will never confess their sin to a person but such are asleep spiritually.

Is Anything Too Hard for the Lord? by C. H. Spurgeon

Topic:
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 32:26,27
Description: DELIVERED ON LORD'S-DAY MORNING, APRIL 22ND, 1888, BY C. H. SPURGEON, AT THE METROPOLITAN TABERNACLE, NEWINGTON. “Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”-Jeremiah 32:26, 27. THIS method of questioning the person to be instructed is known to teachers as the Socratic method. Socrates was wont, not so much to state a fact, as to ask a question and draw out thoughts from those whom he taught. His method had long before been used by a far greater teacher. Putting questions is Jehovah's frequent method of instruction. When the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind it was with a series of questions. “Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?” and so forth. Questions from the Lord are very often the strongest affirmations. He would have us perceive their absolute certainty. They are put in this particular form because he would have us think over his great thought, and confirm it by our own reflections. The Lord shines upon us in the question, and our answer to it is the reflection of his light. The Infallible One challenges a contradiction, or even a doubt. “Is anything too hard for me?” is the strongest way of saying that nothing can be too hard for him...

Escaping the Theology of Babylon by Carter Conlon

Topic: Babylon
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 51:1-2, Daniel 51:1-5, Revelation 18:2
Description: December 4,2005 - There is no deeper and darker blindness than religious blindness. The theology of Babylon has no effect on its society but to dull and deaden the people. This theology of self seeking and animates false prophets who are covetous and has a heart that seeks prestige and power. This theology diminishes the poor and leads them into oppression and darkness. We escape the Babylon theology by considering the poor and needy and reaching out to them with the compassionate heart of Christ

A Silent Church Amidst A Sinful Nation by E.A. Johnston

Topic: Revival
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 5:21-31
Description: Brother E.A. Johnston speaks on the silence of the Church in the midst of a sin depraved society. He speaks of a time of persecution coming in North America to the Church. Worldliness has prevailed in the Church and no power of the Spirit present. There is a time needed of great repentance for the Church of God.

What Will You Do In The End? by Vincent G. Artese

Topic: Apostasy
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 5:21-31
Description: The prophet’s message today as in Jeremiah’s time is: break up your fallow ground! Do not sow among thorns! Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your hearts because your doings are evil. The Church is heading in the wrong direction. The wills of those within it are revolting against God. Do not be deceived by outward professions! Those who bear the good fruit of holy living are the true Church of Jesus Christ. Many religious leaders have risen up and prophesied falsely, but the people love to have it so. These false shepherds cannot be trusted. Repent! Be deceived no longer! What will you do in the end?

To Whom Shall I Give Warning? by David Wilkerson

Topic:
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 6:10, Jeremiah 12-14
Description: July 31, 2005. There is a polluted gospel the is being preached from pulpits that is contaminating the church of Jesus Christ. It is a gospel of humanistic materialism that is infused with the spirit of covetousness. A covetous gospel that lusts after bigger cars, houses and bigger bank accounts. Everything Jesus taught lashes out against this gospel. The true gospel of Jesus Christ is burdened for the widows, the orphans and the hurting around the world

Let God always be your strength - wedding by Erlo Stegen

Topic: Wedding
Scripture(s): Jeremiah 17:7-8
Description: A life that has God's blessing, is truly a blessed life. God is a blessed God. We read numerous times in the Bible phrases such as "blessed be the Lord God ...". Those whose God He is, they are blessed as well. This blessed man is contrasted with the man that is cursed, in the verses just before these. Here we see clearly the two possible ways that exist in life. Either a blessed or cursed life. There is no middle way. The man that is blessed prospers spiritually. He will bear fruit and his leaf will stay green, even in drought. We do not know our lives ahead. Difficult times might come, but if we are of this blessed kind, we will continue to bear sweet fruit and prosper. It is a great blessing if this life is your desire, and not on your lips only, but a reality in your life. The fruit of such a blessed person is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, etc.
