| | Today If You Will Hear His Voice by Edgar F. Parkyns
Topic: Scripture(s): Hebrews 3:7, Hebrews 4:12 | | Description: The sojourning nation of Israel failed to enter into Gods rest because they had hardened their hearts against his voice. Still today, in order to walk in his rest we must learn to hear his inward voice, and not harden our hearts against it. We must let the word of God examine our hearts, break us, and remake us.

| | How Christians Save Christians by Tim Conway
Topic: Once Saved Always Saved Scripture(s): Hebrews 3:12-14 | | Description: Tim Conway explains what the Apostle Paul means when he writes, Exhort one another daily. He shows clearly why it is such a necessary and vital part of the Christian life, and what the effects and benefits of it are. In so doing, arguing always from the basis of scripture, he exposes the dangers of Hyper-Calvinism (ie, extreme views of the doctrines of election and predestination), which lead some to believe that things such as exhortation should not be necessary (65 minutes).

| | Hearing the Voice of God by David Wilkerson
Topic: Voice Of God Scripture(s): Hebrews 12:23-27 | | Description: God's voice is heard only by those shut up with him alone in secret prayer who have learned how to wait on the Lord. God is very careful to whom he speaks. It is only to those who value his voice so much they shut out the whole world to get alone with him. If we know the voice of God we will not be led astray by another voice. From Hebrews 12:23-27 he goes to a number of scriptures on how God has spoken and conversed with his prophets and saints throughout the whole Bible. We can talk and walk with God today, if we are willing to make time for him and listen to him.

| | Joseph's Bones by C. H. Spurgeon
Topic: Scripture(s): Hebrews 11:22 | | Description: WE cannot readily tell which action in a gracious life God may set the most store by. The Holy Spirit in this chapter selects out of good men's lives the most brilliant instances of their faith. I should hardly have expected that he would have mentioned the dying scene of Joseph's life as the most illustrious proof of his faith in God. That eventful life perhaps the most interesting in all sacred Scripture, with the exception of one, abounds with incidents, of which the Holy Spirit might have said by his servant Paul, By faith Joseph did this and that, but none is mentioned save the closing scene. The triumph especially of his chastity under well-known and exceedingly severe temptation, might have been very properly traced to the power of his faith, but it is passed over, and the fact that he gave commandment concerning his bones is singled out as being the most illustrious proof of his faith. Does not this tell us, dear brethren and sisters, that we are very poor judges of what God will most delight in? Very likely when we least please ourselves God is best pleased with us. That prayer over which we groaned, and thought it was not prayer, may have had more true supplication in it than...

| | (Hebrews) 2-Moses by Leonard Ravenhill
Topic: Moses Scripture(s): Hebrews 11:22-23 | | Description: Faith not only moves mountains and secures heaven's blessings; it makes obedience possible. Our obedience, like everything else in the Christian life, is by the faith of the Son of God. By faith Moses' parents sent him down the Nile in a basket, because without God's intervention the child would certainly have died. By faith Moses chose the affliction of the people of God, forsaking the pleasures of sin and the riches of Egypt, because he trusted the Lord to make him a partaker of the riches of Christ. Faith "reckons, risks and rests" - and secures God's promises, sometimes by doing what is foolish in the eyes of the world. Such obedience can only arise from confidence in God to keep his promises, regardless of appearances.
