R. A. TORREY ======================================================================== About Dr. R. A. Torrey DR. R. A. TORREY Dr. Torrey was regarded by multitudes during his lifetime as at the very top in soul-winning, Bible teaching, and the training of Christian workers. He was selected by D. L. Moody as the superintendent of Moody Bible Institute, where he established the Bible Institute curriculum and made Moody Institute a pattern for Bible institutes around the world. He was also pastor of Moody Memorial Church, Chicago. His courses on soul-winning and his practical methods stamped themselves on the lives of Christian workers by the thousands. Later he was the co-founder of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, now Biola College. At the same time he was pastor of the great Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles. But Dr. Torrey was primarily an evangelist. After the death of Moody, Dr. Torrey and Charles M.
