Seek First God's Kingdom But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well. Matthew 6.33 Are we not ashamed to seek something from God? We have the very source of every good thing, yet we think we are still poor. Even in their religious devotion, some seek a source of worldly comfort and consolation. They look at religious devotion as a way to lighten the pains they are suffering and not as a state of turning away from themselves and making sacrifices. That mistake is the source of every discouragement. Let us begin by placing ourselves in God's hands. As we serve him, let us never become anxious and troubled about what he will do for us. Life is so short, if we suffer a little less or a little more, that is no great thing when we keep our sight on the kingdom that will last forever.
