63 - Where is Our Love
Where is our love? Lord, you know everything, you know that I love you. John 21 17 Do we dare to say this to our Lord as St. Peter did? Are we loving God even when we are not thinking about Him? What friend is there with whom we would like to speak if not with Him? Where do we become more bored and restless than in church? What are we doing to please our Master and make ourselves as He wants us to be? What are we doing for His glory? What have we sacrificed for Him in order to accomplish His will? Do we prefer His will over our slightest interest, over our smallest amounts of pleasure? Where is that love we think we have? St. Paul warned, if anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Woe to him who does not love the Lord Jesus, who has loved us so much.
Will He give His eternal kingdom to those who do not love Him? If we loved Him, could we be unresponsive to His blessings, to His inspirations, to His graces? For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
