60 - Christ Lives in Me

Christ lives in me. He who eats me will live because of me. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. Galatians 2.20. Jesus Christ is lives in me. Galatians 2.20. Jesus Christ is lives in me. Galatians 2.20. Jesus Christ is our whole life, that is, the eternal truth that ought to nourish, teach, and sustain us. So why is it that we can feed on such a divine source of nourishment, and yet continue to waste away? How can we fail to grow in virtue, resist growing in spiritual health and strength, live in falsehood, harbor dangerous desires in our hearts, and fail to take pleasure in the only source of true good? Is that the life of a Christian who eats the bread from heaven? Jesus Christ wants only to unite Himself with us, and join with us in body and in spirit. Why? So He can live deep within our hearts. He must be manifested in our mortal bodies. He must radiate from us, since He and we have become one flesh. I live, yet it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me, His created Child who has died already to the things of the world.
