ATTENTION TO LOVE LOVE ONE ANOTHER EARNESTLY FROM THE HEART 1 Peter 1.22 Through these words the Apostle Peter asks us to express our love by always being careful not to hurt our neighbor. Without careful attention, love, which is so fragile in this life, is quickly lost. One word said curtly or irritably or with a haughty or disdainful look can affect those who are weak. We need to take great care with others, as they are so dear to God and are such precious members of the body of Jesus Christ. If you are lacking in this care, then you are also lacking in love, because we cannot love without giving our attention to the object of our love. This attention to love ought to fill our whole beings, our minds and our hearts. It seems to me that I hear Jesus Christ saying to you, as He said to St. Peter, If you love me, feed my sheep.
