The Words of Eternal Life Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. John 6.68 We do not know the gospel well enough, and what prevents us from learning that good news is that we think we already know it. But we are not equated enough with its teachings and we do not enter into its spirit. With great curiosity we search out the thoughts of man, and yet we neglect the thoughts of God. One word of the good news of the gospel is more precious than all the other books in the world put together. It is the source of all truth. We ought to listen with such love, such faith, such adoration to the words of Jesus Christ in the gospel. From this moment forward, let us say the hymn along with St. Peter, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
