I realize that many of us like to think of Christ's work for us in the sense of court terms, so I wanted to ask a question to all of us.Let's say a man comes before the judge, and he realizes his crimes against the law, and he accepts the punishment for those transgressions. Then suddenly someone comes and pays his fines(we all know this scenario). So the man is now free, and he goes his way. BUT what if he commits the same crime that he had been on trial for? Let's say he does it over and over again, is he free? Is he repentant? Or is he lying about his repentance and grief over his law breaking?I look forward to hearing some ideas about this. Please do not make this a can we sin,or not thread, let's just honestly examine ourselves this day in light of this thought.
