Often referred to as "The Scottish Psalter of 1650" because the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland approved the text of this Psalter for use by the church in 1650. Sometimes, as is our practice on this site, the name is shortened to just "The Scottish Psalter." This Psalter has been in continuous use since its initial publication, and has remained unaltered, except for some modernized spelling, from its original wording during all that time. The Scottish Metrical Psalterhttps://www.sermonindex.net/modules/articles/index.php?view=category&cid=736

These are going to be a blessing indeed!! 1 Blessed are they that undefil'd,and straight are in the way;Who in the Lord's most holy lawdo walk, and do not stray.2 Blessed are they who to observehis statutes are inclin'd;And who do seek the living Godwith their whole heart and mind.3 Such in his ways do walk, and theydo no iniquity.4 Thou hast commanded us to keepthy precepts carefully.5 O that thy statutes to observethou would'st my ways direct!6 Then shall I not be sham'd, when Ithy precepts all respect.7 Then with integrity of heartthee will I praise and bless,When I the judgments all have learn'dof thy pure righteousness.8 That I will keep thy statutes allfirmly resolv'd have I:O do not then, most gracious God,forsake me utterly.

I am going to try and find some audio mp3's of people singing these. It would be wonderful to sing through these like the older saints 100's of years ago. In the hebrides islands they just sang psalms as duncan campbell reported.
Greg,it is wonderful hearing metrical psalms being sung, but there is nothing like it when they are sung in Scottish Gaelic. Check this out: http://www.gaelicpsalmsinging.com/salm/page3.php
