There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. - Proverbs 6:16-19God abominates and is sickened by these 7 sins. The reason why is that all 7 of these sins were present at and responsible for the “death” of man in the Garden and the forsaking of man from God’s fellowship with His people from the GardenAll 7 were also all present and responsible for the death of the Son of Man and the forsaking of the Son of God from fellowship with the Father at the cross. The beauty is that God in His good plan used these very sins He abominates at the cross for good. How can we His people now participate in any of these sins that God declares caused the breaking of fellowship between God and His people as well as God and His Son? The very thought should sicken us.

These are sins of conscious choice it seems vs sins of momentary lapse or weakness. Just an observation. Solomon’s father was arguably guilty of a majority of these offenses.

"and one who sows discord among brothers."I was reading last night this phrase from Proverbs:"It is to one's honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel." - Proverbs 20:3

Good addition brother Greg. I think in the context of the application that God is most disturbed when someone gossips, slanders or bears false testimony about the character of a brother, sister or God’s own character creating discord in an attemptt to break unity of fellowship. I was trying to make the point that it was a slandering of Jesus in an attempt to separate Him from His brothers that God abominates.
