 Re: Dohzman

What is the role of the Holy Spirit in your Christian life?

Do we not love one another out of the love of God that is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Rom. 5:5)?

Is brotherly love of man or of God?

ADD:

John 15:9 --
Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

Verse 12 --
This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

Can you do this commandment without God's own love reigning in your heart?

 Re: What is a Christian?

Anyone who is in fellowship with God,...
this literally occurs in Christ
(made possible by Jesus/cross)
by way of Holy Spirit - abiding/keeping step with

Mostly what “christians” do is flesh/religious ritual activity
but no flesh shall enter the kingdom...
The Kingdom is the place of fellowship with or knowing God/King of creation
most everything else gets wiped out in Matt 7:21-23

A Christian responds to the Father in faith, not to the situation in flesh

What is the meaning of agape love?

Agape, and its verb form agapao, is one of the several Greek words for love. The Bible also mentions phileo, or brotherly love, and refers to eros, erotic love. The Greeks also spoke of storge, which is a love between family members.

Agape (Ancient Greek ἀγάπη, agapē) is a Greco-Christian term referring to love, "the highest form of love, charity" and "the love of God for man and of man for God".[1] The word is not to be confused with philia, brotherly love, as it embraces a universal, unconditional love that transcends and persists regardless of circumstance.

Within Christianity, agape is the love originating from God or Christ for mankind. God is love - He is agape.

went to a Greek professor and agapao was as you all say. i stand corrected. At least none of us lost our salvation over this, my apologies if it caused confusion or offense.

 Re:

As being an evangelist is is important knowing the gospel a Christian is one who follows Jesus the Messiah of Nazareth

Believing that it is not by works get us into heaven only the fact that Jesus simply died for our sin and that if we believe in him he will save us from eternal hell

We also believe as Christian in doctrines such as
Sola scriptua , sola fida and sola gratis
By faith alone , scripture alone and by grace alone

We believe that Jesus is both fully God and fully man
We believe in doctrines such as the trinity
We believe the bible is the word of God from genesis to revelation.

There are certain fundemental doctrines that make us different from say hindues , Muslims , Jehovahs witnesses , catholics

Like Muslims follow the Qur'an we follow the bible compared to the Hindus follow the vadas , Bhaveh gitta and atheists do not believe in God

There are certain beliefs to you have to say differ you from a mormans or catholics

Are beliefs as christians should not only be grounded both spiritually and intellectually as a mormans can say they are Christians but they believe completely different things

 Christ LIVES within you!

Test yourselves! You know, don't you, that Jesus the Messiah lives in you? 2 Cor. 13:15

That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith.—Ephesians 3:17

“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”—Colossians 1:27

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col 3:4

 Re: Brother Dominic

You make a good point... lots of people groups with conflicting/incompatible doctrines claim to be “Christians”- and perhaps this is why our sister started the thread...?
So here’s a complimentary question;
Can a person be in fellowship with God and not be a Christian, or can a person be a Christian without being in fellowship with God?
