If men were standing in their proper position under the headship of Jesus Christ, there would be no place for women to rise up.

You are exactly right.

 Re: Machoism (Machismo)

"Domestic violence is... violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or private life. Note: It encompasses, but is not limited to, physical, sexual and psychological violence occurring in the family, including battering, marital rape... psychological violence..." (copy the first 4 lines and you'll find the article)

All the above occur in Christian homes as well as non-Christian homes.

As a church, we love to judge others and say things like, "They got the same Bible as I do, they'll stand in judgment." Well, guess what? Men, have the same Bible as women and your judgment goes both ways... if men are the head of a woman and Christ the head of the husband, who will stand in the greater judgement, savannah?

You need to spend time on the men, teaching them to love their wives in prayer and as Christ loves the church no matter what, because love can change everything in a marriage. 1 Cor 13

Submitted in love,
Lisa

 Re: Need

"You need to spend time on the men..."

Your assumption is, that this is not being done!

The Father and Husband Who is Love, and loves perfectly, has a wife, and children who are yet unsubmissive.

It's worthy of note, the knee-jerk reaction whenever a woman's place, role, purpose and submission is mentioned.

I have a clear conscience, and no problem with God's command to men to love their wife as Christ loved the church. I have done so, yet not perfectly, for over 25 years.

I'd ask Lisa and Heartsong, where is thy husband? Or any male authority for that matter, in your lives!

To love sacrificially, as a man is commanded to, you certainly have no experience in the matter. You cannot speak authoritatively on this from experience. Some of us men can!

Your lack of humility and modesty shows, as you challenge men, setting these commands in their face. Even the woman who has an unbelieving husband is instructed in humility, as to how to win such a man.

The thrust of this thread has borne out the truth which is so prevalent in american culture today. Church-attending persons are of this same mind. The difference being, the women in the church have a cloak which covers their inner self. Rather than the meek and quiet spirit, precious in the sight of God, they're loud and stubborn.

That beautiful ring looks terribly ugly on many of them. If they'd only look in that mirror, they might understand why!

May men be men, and women be women.

If my people...

 Re: Taboos

The only thing more taboo in a Christian Church than addressing gay/lesbian sin is addressing the women in the Church of the various sins they commit.

It's been this way for decades...I spoke to a pastor recently on this subject, I said "I bet you would get a dozen phone calls off a sermon like that". He said. "No, not at all, they will just leave". So, they pack up and take that same spirit with them to the next Church.

Issues for men and women are not taboo in scripture, but in Church if the subject women and the sins common to their sex is broached the immediate outcry is "Well, what about those men"? It's a telling sign of unrepentance and blame-shifting.

Even now as I bring this up that selfish spirit says "Im being marginalized, criticized, judged, abused, singled-out and unfairly treated". As if even mentioning such a thing could never be God.

Be honest how many women's groups will teach on the subject of repentance from feminism? I've never heard of one myself, maybe others have? I can count on one hand all the ones Ive heard from the pulpit.

I know we want revival...but feminism must have a safe place in our congregations? Just like pornography should be safe for men?

I would hope since you have a clear conscience and no problems with God's command that your clarion call should be to your gender, not mine.

 Re:

It is like a king of a certain country that is predominantly filled with rebels and anarchist. He maybe the most Godly king and runs his country in accordance to the word of God, but because the people will not listen to him and follow him, he affectively becomes a dictator.

So it is in a family environment where the wife and children do as thou wilt, the husband/father becomes a dictator in his own home even though he is a Godly man. You can only be a leader if those under you are willing to bow their heads and follow.

This is bad enough in the world but is an absolute tragedy when it is seen in the church and Christian homes. Seems to be more prominent in some denominations to others. To our shame the protestants seem to have gone astray in this way, particularly the pentacostals whom I am closest to.

This is surely one of the signs of the rebellion that is to be seen in the world before the coming of Jesus.

 Re:

3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,
4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,
5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. - Titus 2:3-5

The temptation of Satan to Eve today is to believe that the Holy Spirit who said this didn’t have the good of the Father’s daughter in mind.

We should not be ashamed of the word of God. Just thankful.

Titus 2:3-5

I absolutely love and live that verse daily in the ministry I'm in and also the life I live.
