I remember when church was church; when the worship team was the congregation and the worship center was Christ. When both orthodoxy and doxology sent forth a sweet savor of the presence of Jesus. When the Redeemer had no rivals to draw the mind away from His brilliance. From the dark and dingy caverns where the Waldensens worshipped to the musty catacombs that wreaked with the stench of death where the early Christians took refuge to treasure the Risen Redeemer, true worship consisted of simply celebrating Christ.May we never feel inadequate in our practice of worship because we don’t have a hip worship team or lively music. As long as Jesus is near we lack for nothing.
