 When echo chambers collide-Civil war?

What is the definition of an " echo chamber?" "An echo chamber is a metaphorical description of a situation in which information, ideas, or beliefs are amplified or reinforced by communication and repetition inside a defined system. Inside a figurative echo chamber, official sources often go unquestioned and different or competing views are censored, disallowed, or otherwise underrepresented."

There is nothing more dangerous in the world of ideas than echo chambers. The Republicans built one for themselves four years ago and were soundly beaten, much to their astonishment. This election cycle it was the Democrats turn with the same resulting astonishment ( actually more so because the chamber was bigger)

Most Universities and Seminaries are mere echo chambers. There is no place for competing views and the waters quickly become stagnant. All echo chambers are laced with irony. Let us say you believe in free speech, yet you do not allow dissenting views on a campus, then you become the enemy of free speech even as you advocate for it.

If you only ever surround yourself with people who are in perfect agreement with you then you cease to be a voice for anything but simply become an ever decreasing noise. Do you want to truly have a voice or do you want to only make a noise?

Civil wars are the clash of two competing echo chambers. This country is in danger of another civil war. Civil wars are the wars of civilization. It is when a nation turns against itself. The Greek word for nation is " ethnos." It is where we get our word ethnic from. Jesus spoke of a time where Kingdom would rise against kingdom, then nation ( ethnic groups) would rise against nation.

In this county we have black against white. Left against right. Two giant echo chambers threatening to devour each other. If you think that we are far to modern and sophisticated in this country to ever have another civil war then I believe you to be sadly naive. The very first casualty in a civil war is civility itself, it is what helps to herd us into our "side." Well did Jesus say that a house divided cannot stand. America divided will not stand. Wake up, the forces of evil are tearing us apart......bro Frank
