One Thing You Lack by Art KatzTopic: Call Of GodScripture(s): Mark 10 Description: Katz here expounds upon and builds his message upon the story of the rich man's confrontation with Jesus. "Alot of us are in a much lesser place with God, because we have not understood the totality, the radical demand, the utterness of the whole commitment to God that constitutes entry into the kingdom and also entry into life". Have you yet come to the totality that is intrinsic to the call of God? After listening to this sermon, the answer will no longer elude you. http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=12162&commentView=itemComments
I have listened to this message and the comp made from it many times. While I do enjoy the message and its strength, Art SEEMS to be taking the position that true faith requires the abandonment of our jobs (a regular salary) and benefits (health insurance). He does say this in the message but not sure if he really means it. He seems to but maybe he is just trying to make a point.
Listen again. He gives several examples of what this utterness has meant for different people. If ceasing to have regular employment or health insurance is sticking with you, you may be hearing the Lord speak directly to your position. It is worthwhile to note that Art gives examples of those who made an utter consecration who were brought to places of nothing or utter reliance and those who God gave specific direction to abandon all and follow as He leads moment by moment.Has God done some of this stripping in your life TMK?
