Awake, Each Soul, And Choose Your Faith
By Robert Wayne Johnston
(no copyright permission needed)

Awake, each soul, and choose your faith
Let’s sing our redemption song of
Grace and trust in the Mystery
Who connects us all in One
We let go our lonely separation
Replace with healing integration
Affirm again, celebrate with joy!
Love and peace share we!

Rise up each one with positive thoughts
Let’s affirm our power divine
Of uniqueness, choice, and liberty
Yet one with Infinity
Let’s embrace our individuation
And work out our own salvation
Affirm again, celebrate with joy!
Let’s responsible be!

 Re: What's your favorite song based on Scripture?

My favorite song this week is one that the Holy Spirit gave me recently;

Jesus You're lovely
Lamb You are worthy

I love You Jesus in all of your ways
I love You Jesus night and day
I hear You singing over me
because of Your Love the captives are free

Jesus You're lovely
Lamb You are worthy

I know that I'm precious in Your sight
Because of Your Blood I'm the Father's delight
Made clean because of Your sacrifice
Now I bow down and give You my life

chorus:

Jesus Take my life, I honor Your sacrifice,
Give me discernment and take my deceit,
replace my wickedness for Your wisdom,
and be a lamp unto my feet, Let living waters flow
from me.

 Re:

My favorite hymn right now is "I Need Thee Every Hour",

1. I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

2. I need Thee every hour; stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

I need Thee, O I need Thee; every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.

3. I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

I need Thee, O I need Thee; every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.

4. I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

5. I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.

The 2nd verse reminds me of the Scripture, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:7-8). And the 3rd verse I've found myself praying recently since I am in a joyous season of life. I don't want to cling to God only in the midst of trials. The only reason anything is enjoyable at this point of my life is because of Him. I need Him just as much now in good times as I need Him in difficult times. I don't want to forget God because I'm being blessed. I don't want my life to be more consumed with gifts rather than the Giver of the gifts. So this is my prayer; this is my heart's desire. "I need Thee every hour..."

Here are my two favorites. It took a long time to decide.

1. Based on Proverbs 18:10, The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and they are safe.

2. Based on Isaiah 43:1-3. I used to sing this one to my son when he was small. I would say his name in the appropriate places like this:

Fear not, for I have redeemed you, Joseph
I have called you by your name, thou art mine.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with Joseph.
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow Joseph.
When Joseph walks through the fire
He will not be burned.
Neither shall the flames kindle upon Joseph's coat
For I am the Lord thy God.

I enjoyed most of the stuff that came out of morningstar with Don Potter and co. There releases of a couple of years ago were awesome the way they would sing scripture.

Yeps, that's my favorite too. It has been for quite some time. In Dutch I think it's even more powerful as it says somewhere in the song:

"My soul is in need of You, every hour, every moment"

Every single moment...I need Jesus.
- When I go to sleep
- During my sleep or my sleepless nights
- When I need to get up for school or work
- During my quiet time and afterwards
- When I attend my Church
- When I surf internet or watch television.
- When I listen to music
- During the time I spend with unbelieving friends, knowing how to behave myself in such an environment so as to reflect Christ to them
- I need Him to know when to speak and when to remain silent
- I need Him in the mails I write to friends, family, unknown people
- I need Him in sharing the Gospel
- I need Him in driving my car properly (according to the rules...hmmm...that really is difficult for a guy like me :-?:-P)
- I need Him in my relationship towards and with my parents
- I need Him in making the right choices, putting Him first in all the things I desire
- I need Him in seeing my future in His perspective and keeping Him my only first love
- I need Him in making this post...

I just need Him...what about you? Does this need for Him result in an earnest search for Him?

"O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no wate" (Psalm 63:1)

If you want Me, you'd better seek Me...

"How Deep the Father's Love For Us" - By Sruart Townesend has been striking a particular note in me lately. particularly the following excepts:

Quote:

How deep the Ftaher's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

...and...
Quote:

Behold the man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

...and...
Quote:

Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Ahhh...how great is His love. How great is our redeemer.

great one, and you haven't seen me driving :-P (keeping the taxi-driving-status up :-P)...but, Amen sure thing i believe in all things we need Him! (not just occasionally, but 24/7!)

Quote:

If you want Me, you'd better seek Me...

Amen, sure thing, and He draws near to us when we draw near to Him (Jam 4:8)

and a song which continues in the line of this, is Take Me In - Kutless, don't know of whom the original is, but this one i find very touching everytime i hear it

"Take me past the outer courts
Into the Holy place
Past the brazen altar
Lord I want to see Your Face
Pass me by the crowds of people
The priests who sing Your praise
I hunger and thirst for Your righteousness
And it's only found One place
Take me in to the Holy of Holies
Take me in by the Blood of The Lamb
Take me in to the Holy of Holies
Take the coal, touch my lips, here I am
Take the coal, touch my lips, here I am"

p.s.
if you want the song, just send me a pm

That's the very song that got me started on this topic! I had it burned on a CD and didn't know who the artist was or what the name of the song was. So I did a search on the Internet, and then finally found it! Water by Matt Brouwer.

But what I'm really on here for is to share the worship song that I'm being blessed with as of recent - "Father of Lights".

Father of lights, you delight in your children
Father of lights, you delight in your children

Every good and perfect gift comes from you
Every good and perfect gift comes from you
Every good and perfect gift comes from you
Father of lights

Father of lights, you never change
You have no turning
Father of lights, you never change
You have no turning

©1991 Mercy / Vineyard Publishing
Words and Music by John Barnett

"Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no shadow of turning" (James 1:17).
