Prayer and a Promise The prayers of Paul in (Ephesians 1:16-19),(Ephesians 3:14-19),(Philippians 1:9-11) and (Colossians 1:9-14) and in other places in his letters are most precious and powerful and I do believe are being answered everyday in the lives of believers. These prayers should be read often by all believers. They are a constant reminder of who we are in Christ and the desire He has for us to know Him experientially in our every day walk and the love He has for us. These prayers are primarily directed to our spiritual growth as we learn and grow and mature in our Christian life. But there is one in (Philippians 4:6-7) that I believe really gets on the personal level and concerns our personal problems and needs. This should be our prayer and our attitude and the answer is already promised and is far beyond all of our understanding because it is the very peace of God that we will experience."Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."(Philippians 4:6-7) We're to not "fret"but to carry all our requests to God and His peace which is beyond all understanding shall "guard" our hearts and minds. This chapter 4 in Philippians is the "Strength"chapter for us.He say's a few verses later that learning to be content is a result of this attitude and that being in Christ He becomes our strength and that God will supply all our need, not all our wants but all our needs. We should use this promise and lift it up to God with thanksgiving because He say's He will do it.
