That many of the doctrines of the Catholic Church goes against the true revelation and interpreation of Holy Scriptures revealed by God.

In Paul's second letter to the Thessalonians, he admonished them not to be deceived by any means - not by an evil spirit, nor by word of mouth, nor by a falsely written letter as if from him [2:2,3]. This should caution all Christians to carefully check out any 'new' revelation spoken by a "new breed" of prophets (their terminology). I personally have found teachings, which do not align with Scripture. How do they handle that? They say that they are receiving from the spirit world 'advanced' truths not found in God's Word. We are told that since doctrine divides, we should lay aside doctrine for the sake of unity. Yet, paradoxically, to lay aside doctrine because it is divisive is a doctrine in itself! How can we keep the gospel pure if we lay its doctrines aside in order to welcome other beliefs?

But along with this is some believers in the Catholic system that holded onto the true teachings of Scriptures and revelation of the Son of God as a sacrifice for our sins alone.

And to them, God says:

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

 RE; New Pope

As you can imagine the election of a new pope is a big event here in Ireland. Interestingly the popular view of being a Catholic is that you can pick and choose the want, this has allowed our culture get its head around the various scandals such as a Bishop who fathered a child , a well known priest who fathered two and lives with his mistress secretly, not to mention the child sex abuse cases.

Today I am praising God that Cardinal Ratzinger has become pope, because as he proclaims the "true faith" of his church, it will become clearer that they are so far from the doctrine of Grace and that they do not hold to the Bible. This is a great door of opportuinity for the evangelicals/penetcostal to preach Christ and Him crucified.

So lets get harvesting

Paul

That is exactly what I thought, and what I so poorly expressed when I started this thread! Thank you for saying what I was thinking, brother!

Unfortunately tho, as time progresses we are told that wickedness and deception will wax worse and worse. So on one hand, I think that for many Bible believing Christians the true nature of the RCC might finally become clear... the deception about the RCC will not get any better and in fact will get worse.

 Re:

You're absolutely right, Krispy. It is well to hope that as the RCC moves farther away from the truth and exposes it's rotted innards to the world that people will have their eyes opened, but scripture teaches that more or less the OPPOSITE will happen. The RCC will sell the world it's package of wickeness wrapped in a pretty bow...

Sin ALWAYS comes in a pretty package...

And the world will fall for it. Just look at all the soft-shoe, pussy-footing, corn-husking, kowtowing, soft-steppin, light-spoken, easy-goin, non-offendin', commiserating that all the big-name evangelicals in America gave to the Catholic church over the death of JPII! They praised that man in so many different ways as a man of God, and not one of them dared open their mouths to try to preach the truth of the Catholic church.

Worried about offending, I suppose...getting some backlash, perhaps...maybe losing some con$tituent$, even?

'far as I'm concerned, those men just dipped their hands in the blood of millions who are marching to hell.

It's a somewhat delicate work, as I understand...to make sure you don't pull out or damage the corn itself.

But then, you should know that, ya hick.

We only use corn to make sour mash. Just a little yeast and some copper line...

 Re:

This from FoxNews.com:

"Wearing golden vestments and a white bishop's miter, Benedict, the 265th Bishop of Rome, opened the Mass with a prayer in Latin and was to deliver his first homily in Latin — a discourse that will be watched by millions for hints about priorities in his pontificate."

"Cardinals — also clad in gold — solemnly chanted the "Kyrie Eleison" hymn, Greek for "Lord have mercy.""

Intersting... look at this scripture again:

Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

I'm tellin' ya... if you cant see this, your eyes are closed!
