 2 Kings 6:16

"Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them." It is for you, too, this word of the prophet to his servant, terror stricken before the hostile army.
Like the eyes of the servant, your own eyes are open only toward men. You are blind toward God. Then why not despair of your cause and admit yourself beaten? What is a little apprentice disciple, neither very well educated nor very courageous in the midst of the world that denies God? What can your poor protestations do, while you are being swept away by the torrent of matter which crushes spirit? Who will listen to the Christian witness that you stammer in the midst of mockings and cries of hate? Would it not be better to give up?
Elisha prayed:"Lord, open his eyes that he may see." And the Lord opened the eyes of the servant, who saw the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire.
If your eyes are opened you will not only know that the presence of your Master accompanies you everywhere, but you will perceive the power of the weapons He gives you: those weapons of the Spirit that cause unbelievers to laugh, but that nevertheless bring to bear upon them tremendous power, the only power that is truly effective.
Among those who appeared to be enemies you will recognize numerous allies ready to rise up. You will know at last that the most rabid opponents in some unacknowledged corner of their hearts yearn to belong to the Master.
Instead of seeing defeat all around you, you will then, like him look upon the plains already white for the coming harvest, and "the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."
