 Thoughts...

“Your thoughts are productive, or destructive—never ‘just neutral’ or ‘just observing the facts.’ We become, based on the QUALITY of our thoughts.”

______________________

To bring my thoughts, each one unto submission to the LORD. Each thought to be centered on HIM and by HIS strength daily giving HIM all honor and glory, only by doing this can I become who HE longs for me to be!

 Re: Thoughts...

The thoughts - this is the arena that determines the quality of our walk with the Lord.

Holiness is the sum of our thoughts.

What we entertain in our mind determines who we become.

This is some of what is covered in the following message by Gisela Yohannan entitled "overcoming fear". The message itself is very practical, I included some notes below. Will try to post a more complete transcript Lord willing.

The way to take every thought captive to obey Christ:

Ephesians 6:16
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one

How to overcome fear with faith:

The first step If you are experiencing fear for any reason:

take your Bible

find a promise in God's Word for your situation

This goes for everything

look up the verses that relates to every situation we are dealing with

The Lord Jesus did the same thing

When he faced temptation he took a promise that was made for his situation

He went to God's Word

He knew it by heart

And He used it

So the first thing you need to do is find a promise in Gods Word for your situation

And you will find that God's promise that He makes to you is ALWAYS greater than your promise

ALWAYS

Whatever need you may have

Go to God's Word

Find a promise that is greater than your problem

When Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden sin came, death came, sickness came, they were cast out

But do you know that they got from God a GREATER promise than their problem

GOD IS GREATER THAN ANY PROBLEM

The promise He gave to them: one day the Serpent will be crushed

Romans 16:20
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

This is how we must move forward with everything

God gave them a greater promise

He told them there is hope

So what we do is

Find the promise

Take it as yours

Cling to it and don't let it go

Surround yourself with the promise!!

Write it down

Read it every few minutes

Post it wherever you can see it

In summary: find the promise, take it as yours, and surround yourself with it

I find the promise and write it down and put it in different places such as on the table or beside the laptop. When I am typing and my mind goes to my fear or problem then I can just look there at God's promise.

The second step after we have the promise and surround ourselves with it, then we agree with what the Word of God says

You say to yourself, what God's Word says is the truth

My fears, my feelings, my thoughts are not the truth.

Agree with God's Word

So often we disagree!
