Embrace the grace of power before you sin

Embrace the grace of power before you sin as intensely as you do the grace of pardon. @johnpiper on Twitter.com 2012.12.22

Amen.

Being "under grace" means being kept by grace from the propensity to sin.

"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." (Romans 6:14-15)

Sin dishonors God and hurts people. Sin is not a victimless crime. Sin has consequences even when it is forgiven.

Embrace the grace of God before you sin. Keep yourself in the love of God and away from the love of sin.

Embrace the grace of power before you sin as intensely [or more intensely] as you do the grace of pardon.
