 The Pilgrim Church

Here is an article I thought some of you might be interested in since you seem to find the book, The Pilgrim Church, truthful.

 Re: The Pilgrim Church

Hi Andie, are you just here to propagate the Catholic Church? Its a serious question for we have just had people ejected for having an agenda and having a zeal against Catholicism. Shall I reply to your question with an article or a book about the inquisition, or shall I quote some stories from Foxes book of Martyrs of just some of the millions of people murdered by the Catholic church in the last 1700 years? Serious question Andie, do you think the genuine priests of God kill people by the tens of thousands, and not just kill them, by horrifically torture and kill them? ...............Frank

I have tried to iniate contact with Andie and I will make a public statement here for clarity. SermonIndex is an evangelical website with classic biblical preaching from the historic Christian faith. We do not condone or have Roman Catholic teachers on our website. And we do not allow for the propagation of such on the forums.

If you are a catholic you are free to ask questions and learn on the forums and use the sermon materials to learn. But we do not allow for the spreading and posting of teachings of the catholic church or similar types of teachings. This is not a warning but simply a statement of what SermonIndex is here for and why we do not condone these things.

Q. Is there a statement of faith for the website?
Answer. Being undenominational, we seek to minister to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity (Eph. 6:24), and to love all who love Him (John 15:12; 1 John 4:20-21). By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35). We hold to the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, as the inspired word of God. We believe in the New Birth, and that Salvation is a free gift of God through Jesus Christ to all who will repent, and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15; John 3:16). We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35; Luke 2:1-7; John 1:14; John 3:16; Acts 13:16-41; 1 John 4:1-15). We believe in the deity of God the Father, the deity of Jesus, the Son of God, and the deity of the Holy Spirit. We believe that, while we were yet sinners, Jesus Christ shed His precious Blood on the cross, and died, that we might have life, and have it more abundantly (Rom. 5:8; John 10:10). We believe that Jesus rose again from the dead (1 Thess. 4:14; Luke 24:1-8; Acts 10:34-41; Luke 24:33-46). We believe that Jesus, some days after His resurrection from the dead, ascended to God in heaven (Acts1:1-10; Eph. 1:15-23). We believe in the personal return of Jesus with power and great glory (Luke 21:27), and that His return is an event for saved people to look forward to with great expectation and with constant watchfulness and prayer (Luke 21:34-36; 1 John 3:2-3). We believe that this same Jesus, which was taken up from the apostles into heaven, shall so come in like manner as they saw Him go into heaven (Acts 1:1-11). We believe it is the privilege and duty of every Christian--to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and to live a holy life, and to be always ready for the return of Jesus, and that, in the meantime, each Christian should Occupy (keep busy in His will, and in His service) till the Lord's return (John 7:37-39; Acts 1:8; Eph. 5:18; Matt. 24:44; Luke 19:13; Titus 2:11-15; 1 Peter 1:13-19).

Amen brother. I tried to reach out to Andie and she had zero interest in searching the Scriptures but just kept referring me to the Cahtechism and links to articles. I spent two years debating Catholic thelogians and apologists and the hatred was incredible, something of that old wicked spirit that caused the deaths of so many martyrs down through the ages. I believe that Andie is here to teach " us," about the Catholic church and to show us the error of our ways..............bro Frank

 Re: The Pilgrim Church

I just feel sad that you guys have such hatred in your hearts towards the Church. I wanted to just try and be friendly and dialogue, but it is too difficult hearing all the anti Catholic lies and exaggerations, so I guess I got impatient and agenda like.

Jesus said we should all be one. And I have friendly and respectful discussions with other Protestants. We are working on that unity both at a official and personal level.

That website I posted has some really good articles you might want to take a look at also if interested!

I won't post anymore Greg, I know I am in violation of the rules, but it's only because I care. Anyway God bless you all.

My friend, thank you for understanding that this is not a catholic forum. I have zero hatred towards you as a person and actually do not have hidden hatred towards the catholic system. I feel it is very sad and grieving many of the evil things that have been done in the name of Christ and ways the bible has been used to promote a system and a political entity in many ways.

Jesus in his prayer for unity in John 17 never meant different belief systems but rather he meant between true disciples of Jesus Christ who were under Him as the head and no man.

I pray the Lord will guide you into all truth and that perhaps as the Lord opened your eyes by some of the sermons here on the website that He might continue to do so. Thank you for your willingness not to post anymore on the website and for your gracious response.

I do trust we can all learn from these discussion exchanges in the end in the way to love and be patient with "all men" as the Scriptures command.
