Genesis 22:7 7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb for a burnt-offering? Genesis 22:8 8And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together. How beautiful and wonderful are the words of Abraham and Isaac. My father said Isaac and Abraham replied Here am I my son. How reasonable is the question of Isaac and how faithful is the answer of Abraham! How confident the enquiry of Isaac and how full of faith is the answer of Abraham! What trust the heart of Isaac and how truthful the answer of Abraham! How intimate the walking of Isaac and how obedient the action of Abraham to continue on in faith!May God Himself grant to each one of us such a heart and mind as was in Isaac and such obedience and trust in God the Father, as was in Abraham. May we comprehend in a renewed mind that such was the confidence and trust which Christ had in the Father in heaven, even unto death.May Christ Himself teach us that such a walk He asks of each one of us.
