 The Unseen Force Of Faith

The tittle may sound a little strange, but that's how I want you to view faith. Not just something cute that you keep in your heart, but a force. A force is defined as- Capacity to do work or cause physical change; strength; power. I like that, cause physical change. Let me tell you where I got the tittle, I was watching television one day and I happened to come upon a compass. So, I picked it up and started to move around the room with it and as I moved that compass moved. And the Holy Spirit quickened my mind, there is a force in the earth called a magnetic field. That force is unseen, but it causes something to happen in the seen and that's how faith is. An unseen force causes that compass to move. That gave me greater understanding of what Jesus said, "Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Let's break this scripture down, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed", now some people say the size of a mustard seed, I don't have a problem with that, but let's look at something else about a seed, if it's not released out of the ground it will not produce anything in the earth. Notice Jesus said, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say" that's how you release it. Jesus said it this way, "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh". It's the faith that's released that moves mountains and causes physical change.

Now let's go a little deeper, your faith should be based on the word of God. Paul calls it the word of faith. That means you could say, If ye have the word of God as a mustard seed... . The word of God is designed to change things. The word of God is the original force of all forces. What you see was made of things you can't see, the word. Notice things that are unseen caused things that are seen to change. And we are made in God's image and likeness. We are a spirit just as God is a spirit. So, if we learn how to operate from our spirit we can cause things to change in the natural. That's what Jesus demonstrated over and over again. He spoke to the wind and sea and his words of faith calmed the storm. He spoke to a tree and it dried up from the roots and then he said to his disciples that if they had faith they could do the same thing, change things in the physical by operating out of their spirit and so can we. That's why one of the worst things a child of God can do is to wait for things to change and get better. No, take the word of God and make things get better. God said, his word would not return to him void, but accomplich that which He pleases. God has honored us to be able to release that force on our behalf. So, once again that force is released in the earth now by us.

Re: The Unseen Force Of Faith

While I understand the need of faith to believe in his word, I would caution against calling faith itself a 'force'.

As a Calvary Chapel student, faith being referred to as a force is part of our doctrinal statement - WE REJECT - (3) “positive confession,” (e.g., the Faith Movement, that views faith as 'a force' that can create one’s own reality or that God can be commanded to heal or work miracles according to man’s will and faith)

The reason I would caution taking the stance that faith is a FORCE of some kind is that men can easily have a tendency to start declaring things without understanding the character of the person of the spirit - as well as his Sovereignty.

He isn't some mystical creature that allows us to just 'name it, claim it, and frame it' - he examines our motives (asking amiss). We easily end up trying to force anything and everything that we just want. Job promotions, bigger houses, cars, etc. It can turn into a faith rocket that can be launched at whatever we will, rather than what God wills.

I think that standing on God's word and resisting fear by faith, or speaking Love or Joy into your spirit would at least be a faith seed that's planted in the word & that will grow and bear much fruit.

Both of the referenced verses in context also speak of the destruction of the temple, the Mount of Olives and the Fig Tree as Israel.

I personally always thought the mountain that needs to be moved is unbelief - For example, saying - Lord don't let this person's healing not occur because of my unbelief; it will put the burden on the Lord to do the healing of that person, but I'll refuse to the best of my ability to limit God because of doubt in my heart.

Much peace and love you to brother!

Don't pin this one on the Holy Spirit. None of this is His teaching on the Biblical concept of faith, be it "pistis" in the Greek or "'emuwnah" in the Hebrew.
