The Mind Game (You Take Control)

In Ephesians 6:16 it speaks of being able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one and those darts are thoughts he shoots through your mind trying to get you to accept them. That's how the devel operates, he wants to plant a seed in your mind and as you meditate on that thought seed that seed then increases, now you have an image. When he plants the seed you start worrying and as you worry that thought increases into an image. Now you see yourself not being able to pay that bill. Now you see yourself with that sickness. Now you see yourself with that negative situation. That's why it says in 2 Chronicles 28:9, "For the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts" because that image grew out of a thought seed that was planted. And if you're not careful that image can control you. You'll start living according to that image. You'll start making plans and preparations for something that hasn't even happened yet out of worry based on an image. How many of you know what I am talking about. Notice what it says in Jeremiah 9:14 and 11:8, that the people walked in the imaginations of their hearts. They followed the image they had in their minds. So if you don't take control of that imagination it can take control of you.

Some of you might be troubled in your mind or thinking, trying to figure out how can I fight against thoughts that I'm thinking. But, the Bible teaches you can do something about your thinking. You don't have to put up with those tormenting thoughts. You don't have to put up with fear and worry. You can do something about them. The Bible says you can do something about every thought you have. You can change your thinking. That's what it says in 2Corinthians 10:4-5, "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ". Notice it says our weapons are mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. You see something is a strong hold when you don't have it, but it has you. You see you can have thoughts, but if you meditate on the wrong thought to long it can take hold of you. Now it's like whatever you do that thought is on your mind, it's the center point of your thinking. But, God has given you authority over your thinking.

Stop speaking every thought that comes to your mind. Stop speaking your fears and worries. Jesus said it this way, "Take no thought saying..." (Matthew 6:31). You're giving life to those thoughts when you speak them (Proverbs 18:21). Proverbs 30:32 says that if you think evil put your hand over your mouth. In other words don't let it come out of your mouth. Stop speaking those evil thoughts of fear and worry. Speak the word of God instead, why? Because the word of God is anointed and it's the anointing that destroys the yoke (Isaiah 10:27). The more you speak God's word, the more you put your faith in God's word you will find those thoughts decreasing. Why, because you are filling yourself with the word of God. Speak the word of God that is contrary to those tormenting thoughts. You are filling yourself with the word of God and the more you fill yourself with the word the less room there is for those tormenting thoughts. Proverbs 18:20 says, "A man's belly(spirit) shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled." So then the more you speak the more you are filled and the more you're filled with the word the less room there is for those tormenting thoughts. So, don't let the devil win his mind games. You take control over your own mind.
