"Pilgrim and Sojourner." - 1 Peter 2:11

Daily Readings with Basilea Schlink - July 11

For what do you pray? Never forget to ask for repentance, for this is a prayer especially pleasing to the Father, one which He will not fail to answer. Repentance is a joyful experience because it drives us into the arms of God, to His very heart.

When repentance has found room in your heart, a stream of joy will flow forth. Out of repentance comes new divine life, marked by love — and love creates happiness. The heavenly Father wants to give you this gift of repentance. He cannot bear to see anyone unhappy.

"I am so deeply concerned that we should rise and shake of the grave clothes of dead denominational Christianity that lives on a dead tradition and runs like a track with the engine off while the momentum carries it on. I am concerned that we should enter the Christian life that we should be a people indwelt with the Holy Spirit, recognize ourselves as a minority group living in a world that hated our Lord and hates us for our Lord’s sake." - A.W. Tozer
