 Re: when you find rest

When you find rest, walk in a direction that maintains that rest that peace, if you fall repent and return to that peace, Move where that peace moves you.

 Everybody please pray

Everybody please pray for Daniel

Luke 15
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

I will try again to give Jesus everything and will fight with all my strength for that. He is my only hope. Please pray for me .. My name is Daniel and I'm from Germany.

I believe the problem is here, "fight with ALL MY STRENGTH". This was the problem with me 2 years back and with many faithful believers who come to Jesus Christ. We get into the life of Romans 7 very easily were we embrace law and start fighting temptations by our own strength. But to get into life as described in Romans 8 we need to be broken, and believe that my strength is over. I need God's grace to live for him. By my strength I cannot do it anymore.

The very fist miracle that Jesus did was to convert water to wine, he did not do this miracle until the man made wine ran out. Jesus in our life is waiting for this man made wine (Human strength) to run out. Accept your weakness and ask for grace. His grace can make you Christlike, if we can live like Christ by our own strength then why did God give us Holy Spirit? Seek you will get and seek with right motive, to Glorify him.

"Are You Backsliding?" (parts 1 and 2)- Michael L. Brown.

Sounds like you know you are-- but the sermon talks about remedies as well.

 Re:

Thank you for your prayers and posts. Everybody tells me that I should not fight in my power. But what does that mean exactly? For example, I smoke, and I think the Holy Spirit tells me, "If you smoke and do not want to stop then you are living in sin" Am I to wait until God does a miracle and I no longer smoke?

I think there is a difference between living in sin and sinning. And I have to decide whether I want to live in sin or not. I believe God will not help me if I'm living in sin. When I was born again I knew that I'm saved and the Holy Spirit showed me what sin is and what is not. And he also showed me that I should not live in sin.
I will sin my life. But I have to decide not to live in sin.

I'm very confused. I do not understand everything. What should I do? I think Got me saying: "stop living in sin, and trust me, turn around"

Is that correct?

@Kraftfrau (are you german?)

The fear of man! I was afraid of people and have again started to take drugs and ran away from jesus.

 Re:

I guess most of the sincere believers have gone through this. I do not know of everyone, but know of one, that is myself. I was struggling with a lack of consistency which is generally termed as backsliding but in a specific expression, SIN. Many years since I came to faith, I didnt experience a victorious christian life. Some years back, defeated and dejected and totally lost in my spiritual war, I told Jesus, that I do not have what it takes to be a spiritual man.

brother, that was the turning point in my spiritual life. God lifted me off the pit I had stooped down to. Now many of those areas are history. I am experiencing the power of god, which came from my inadequacy when I admitted like a child to its father that I couldnt make it.

He is a holy god but at the same time, He is a loving father. Trust in Him. Accept your inadequacy. Admit, you cannot make it on your own. I stopped smoking when I came to faith. But that was not the biggest sin in my life. there were many areas which were even more serious. But when my lord pulled me up with His power, I do not even consider them anymore.

Later, when I was meditating Luke, I saw how many foolish things Peter did before he 'realized' he was not good and went fishing again. It was then our Lord ordained him!! how amazing are His ways. We need to empty our inferior self will to let god pour His love and His Spirit.

I am sure, you will come out victorious in your struggle as you admitted you have back-sliden. Now just submit yourself in the mighty hands of the Lord and wait for His move.

Only make sure, you submit - COMPLETELY.

God bless you dear brother.

 Re:

Daniel, no but I lived in Berlin.

Looking deeply into our hearts, we can find the thoughts that caused division in our relationship with our Lord. Why did you not trust Him to protect you and only allow what is to your good? Mostly the reason why bad things happen is because we are not walking right. If we compromise with sin then we step outside of that protection, and if we are walking right then whatever happens to us does not scar us in our minds because we are trusting Him and know that whatever befalls us is for a purpose so we praise Him in everything, even in the most terrible circumstances we are happy to suffer for Christ. So the first step is to acknowledge our own responsibility in what happens to us while we are playing games with sin.
