Baggara, Messiria of SudanThe Messiria are one of the Baggara tribes of Sudan. Baggara are thought to be partly descended from Arab tribes who settled the region primarily from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. They became known as the Baggara, literally "cattelers" or "cattle people". The Baggara are somewhat unusual in that the women work to provide the income needed to maintain the households, and a married woman owns the tent as well as all of its housekeeping contents.Ministry ObstaclesSudan provides a difficult environment for Christian workers, a place of turmoil.
