AN URGENT MESSAGE + Resources (David Wilkerson) SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2009

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE - EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (v. 3).

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. If possible lay in store a thirty-day supply of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven—his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run...no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.

God bless and keep you,

In Christ,

DAVID WILKERSON

Re: AN URGENT MESSAGE + Resources (David Wilkerson) SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2009

How does one define "urgent?"

I am not sure if storing up food etc is a believer's blblical approach to God's wrath on the wicked, but it might be. The scriptures suggest repentance and fasting should be the response. Joseph's storing up grain due to impending famine seems to be a different situation.

I certainly agree that there is "No need to run...no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds." Amen. May I be granted the grace for this faith when the need arises.

In light of all the possible eschatological possibilities, I think the simplest approach is to be close to HIM, and then we will be ready for anything, whenever anything happens.

 Re:

Pro 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Pro 6:7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Pro 6:8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

Why does she provide her meat in the summer? Because she can't in the winter. It is simply good Biblical wisdom to be prepared, especially since we KNOW the times of suffering for this nation are inevitably coming because of our turning away from God.

If you can even flee to another country you'd be better off than living in a concentration camp in the USA until you're martyred. However, in whatever way God chooses to get glory out of our lives, THANK GOD that He has chosen us, but let it not be that we suffer from our own lack of wisdom or our lack of listening to His still small voice. God told the Israelites to go on into Babylonian captivity. Those who willingly left their homes had a much more peaceful life for the next 70 years. Those who stubbornly remained in the path of wrath got it. The storm of God's wrath is soon to come upon the USA. He that hath ears to hear let him hear. If we will be as Jeremiah and listen to God's leading we may have a few more years of service for the King on the earth. God's will be done with all of us!

Some through the water,
Some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but
All through the blood!

Some through great sorrow,
But God gives a song
In the night season
And all the day long.

Huh?? That might be a tad alarmist, but to each his own.

Good point about the ant.

 Re:

Greg,

A couple of questions-

1. Do you know when David Wilkerson actually wrote this? I have read it several times over the years but can't remember when it was published.

2. Was there a reason you felt to bring specific attention to it right now?
I suppose I am really asking if you had a reason, or spiritual insight, to think it was very much an "any day now" type event.

As always, thank you for the wonderful web site. It is a real blessing.
I appreciate it and the ministry of SI very much!

Blessings!

I did feel led to post it in light of an urgency in my heart to continue to remind the saints of God that things are not getting better but worse right now and we need to practically be more prepared in our hearts and lives. I wrote this article with a true sense of the Lord and the coming problems to the church in the west: http://www.greggordon.net/the-coming-great-persecution/

But I want to remind all the saints of God that this will be also the most glorious time of the church in the West where a sifting will occur and the true sincere believers will shine as lights. May we be busy about the work to the kingdom and look to Jesus Christ in all things. I believe these trials that are coming will help many to look away from the toys and pleasures of the earth and focus more on Christ Himself.
