"The world and the church's needs are greater then ever, and so are the opportunities. The stage is set for possibly the greatest advancement in missions the church has ever known. Political upheavals have opened the door to countries that were previously closed, and all the great "ism's" of secular man have fallen under the weight of their own error. Humanism has left our world disillusioned and cynical. Secular thought has left it soulless and empty. Materialism has left both the "haves" and the "have not's" miserable and constantly at war. Sexual libertarianism has raped the individual of human dignity, exiled beauty, and driven a knife through the heart of innocence. Finally, the current revival of paganism has left men praying to rocks, hugging trees, and killing babies. The enlightenment of the twentieth century, which was to bring peace and prosperity has spawned more ignorance, poverty, immorality, and violence then any scholar could have predicted or any prophet could have foretold. It is a day to do great things." - Paul Washer

 Re:

"In the Scriptures, many graphic and striking descriptions of hell are given. Whether they are to be taken as literal or not has been a long-standing debate even among conservative scholars. Is hell a place of literal fire and darkness, of brimstone and smoke? If someone denies a literal interpretation of these descriptions with the purpose of diminishing the sufferings of the wicked in hell, they are to be dismissed. However, it is acceptable to hold these descriptions to be figurative in the sense that they are an attempt to describe something so terrifying that it goes beyond the capacity of the human mind to conceive and beyond the power of our human language to communicate. To describe the terrors of hell, the biblical writers used the greatest terrors known to man on earth, but one can be assured that hell is worse than anything found on earth. Fire and darkness, brimstone and smoke are only a feeble attempt to describe a reality far more terrifying than even these words can convey. In the same way that the glories of heaven cannot be comprehended by the human mind or communicated through human language, the terrors of hell are beyond our comprehension and ability to describe." - Paul Washer

“Get ready for our own humblings. God is not going to send a stuffy, ‘we were right,’ ‘told you so,’ Church to Israel. He’s going to send a people who are like blinded Samson, who recover strength by the grace of God, having been deeply humbled.” – Reggie Kelly

"We can get all worked up over missionaries ten or twelve thousand miles away, but people can live right next door to us and be perishing in their spiritual agony, and we do nothing. That is worldliness. It results from this business of thinking we can live our own lives; that we can withdraw from the world and create our own Christian world and live within it." - Ray Stedman

"John Wesley never lowered himself to preach miracles once in his life. But the miracles that followed John Wesley's ministry were unbelievable. On one instance he had to make an engagement, and his horse fell lame and could not travel. Wesley got down on his knees beside his horse and prayed for its healing. Then he got back up and rode, without the horse limping, to where he was going. He did not publicize the miracle and say, "We'll have a big tent here and advertize it." God just did those things for him. While C. H. Spurgeon did not preach healing, he had more people delivered in answer to his prayer than any doctor in London. Those are the kinds of miracles I am talking about." - A.W. Tozer
