When I Hear the Praises Start (A Song by Keith Green)

Sometimes I sing in the car and this song has repeatedly come up in my spirit as of late. In fact, I'm listening it to now. What a beautiful song...

My son, My son, why are you striving
You can't add one thing to what's been done for you
I did it all while I was dying
Rest in your faith, my peace will come to you

For when I hear the praises start
I want to rain upon you
Blessings that will fill your heart
I see no stain upon you
Because you are My child and know me
To Me you're only holy
Nothing that you've done remains
Only what you do for Me

My child, My child, why are you weeping
You will not have to wait forever
That day and that hour is in My keeping
The day I'll bring you into Heaven

For when I hear the praises start
My child, I want to rain upon you
Blessing that will fill your heart
I see no stain upon you
Because you are My child and you know me
To me you're only holy
Nothing that you've done remains
Only what you do in Me

My precious bride, the day is nearing
When I'll take you in My arms and hold you
I know there are so many things that you've been hearing
But you just hold on to what I have told you

For when I hear the praises start
My bride, I want to rain upon you
Blessings that will fill your heart
I see no stain upon you
Because you are My child, and you know Me
To me you're only holy
Nothing that you've done will remain
Only what you do for me

Re: When I Hear the Praises Start (A Song by Keith Green)

yes it is indeed, i've got also a cd of Keith Green, and it is great to listen to it, and has it influence on its listeners. And i want to share a short story, about the song "There is A Redeemer"

One day, i was driving my cab, and a lady was sitting in the back, and the song "There Is A Redeemer" (which touches me) was playing...and as i was driving, i was looking in my rearview mirror, and this lady was smiling and was singing with the song, it was for her a real blessing, and a blessing for me to hear her singing that song. We could talk only a few moments about Jesus, because we had already arrived. But it was really great to see this woman, a sister in Christ (which i didn't know when i've picked her up) encouraged through this song.

There is a Redeemer,
Jesus, God’s Own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,

Jesus my Redeemer,
Name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Oh, for sinners slain.

Thank you oh my Father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
’til the work on earth is done.

When I stand in glory,
I will see His Face,
And there I’ll serve my King forever,
In that holy place.

Thank you oh my Father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
’til the work on earth is done.

There is a Redeemer,
Jesus, God’s Own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One,

Thank you oh my Father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit,
’til the work on earth is done.

And leaving Your Spirit,
’till the work on earth is done.

Re: When I Hear the Praises Start (A Song by Keith Green)

I remember going through a very rough time in my faith once when God used this song. I was driving home from church and was very restless. I told God that I just didn't know what to do to make and keep my life right with Him. In frustration I turned my radio on and I heard a piano intro that could only be Keith Green and listened to the first words, "My son My son why are you striving, You can't add one thing to what's been done for you. I did it all while I was dying, rest in your faith My peace will come to you."

It was the first time I had ever heard that song and it was a message straight from heaven.

 Re: nothing like awesome worship....

Thanks for sharing the great songs. Yes, I do love Keith Green. Does anyone have the words to a a song that includes the following:

Make my life a prayer too You, I want to do what You want me too>.. by Keith Green

If you could share them, I'd be so blessed. I read them in his book, but he did not share the whole song. To me, Keith is like Tozer and Ravenhill, gone yet still alive, in heaven and on earth. God is sooooo good. Thanks again for sharing.

Re: Make my life a prayer to you - Lyrics

Make my life a prayer to you
I wanna do what you want me to
No empty words and no white lies
No token prayers no compromise

I wanna shine the light you gave
Thru your son you sent to save us
From ourselves and our despair
It comforts me to know you’re really there

Chorus
Well I wann thank you know
For being patient with me
Oh it’s so hard to see
When my eyes are on me
I guess I’ll have to trus
And just believe what you say
Oh you’re coming again
Coming to take me away

I wanna die and let you give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope you gave me
The love that set me free

I wanna tell the world out there
You’re not some fable or fairy tale
That I’ve made up inside my head
You’re God the son and you’ve risen from the dead

Chorus

I wanna die and let you give
Your life to me so I might live
And share the hope you gave me
The love that set me free

We have translated in Macedonian 2-3 songs (as I know) by Keith Green and one of them is "There is A Redeemer".
Maybe the most loved song in my church is "Create in me a clean heart" inspired by Psalm 51. Everyone knows it :-)
Also I like "The Lord Is My Shepherd".

 Another favorite

I love his heart more than his musical ability. I saw a DVD of him about a week ago and he sang a couple of songs on CBN in 1981 or sometime before he died in 1982. They also showed a very brief clip from the funeral and there was Leonard Ravenhill.

Anyhow, I'm on a tangent. Here's another song that means a lot to me.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,
Your face is all I see,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,
Your face is all I see,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

I want to take your word and shine it all around.
But first help me to just, live it lord.
And when I’m doing well, help me to never seek a crown.
For my reward is giving glory to you.

Oh lord, please light the fire,
That once burned bright and clean.
Replace the lamp of my first love,
That burns with holy fear.

I want to take your word and shine it all around.
But first help me to just, live it lord.
And when I’m doing well, help me to never seek a crown.
For my reward is giving glory to you.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,
Your face is all I see,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

Oh lord, you’re beautiful,
Your face is all I see,
For when your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

 Re: KEITH GREEN

Just me- saying that I have also been so blessed by Keith Green's life and his music!

I think about his story "No Compromise" all the time. And I have his written jounrals in "Make My Life A Prayer to You". So open and real.

 Re:

ROCK ON...!

Love Keith's music and ministry. Imagine... he died 22 years ago. How much more would he have done in that time? He did more in his 28 years than most people do in a lifetime.

But God knew what He was doing.
