| Which book to buy? | | Well, I got a gift certificate from Barnes and Noble for Christmas. $15. Can't decide on a book to buy. Any Suggestions? Used or out of print or new, as long as I can find it on their site.
Thanks |

| Re: Which book to buy? | | Hello IA Holmes Ahh the gift of books is such a wonderful thing and there are so many great books out there. It's always good to go with the clasics most of the time you can never go wrong there. I am reading an interesting book right now by a fellow by the name of Devern Fromke(I beleive he has a couple of sermons on this site) which is called The Ultimate Intention. I am on chapter 5 right now and so far so good. also if you go to rarechristianbooks.com you can see some of the out of print and or hard to get older christian books out there, and I know this is going to make you hapy greg, you can even get a list of Leonard Ravenhills recommended reads:) hope this helps Andy out _________________ andrew james

Ultimate Intention had a profound impact on my walk with God, in my opinion it is one of those must reads for any Christian. Mr Fromke's book Unto Full Stature is also excellent but unfortunately his books can't be had at B&N. :-(

| Re: | | Why Revival Tarries By Leonard Ravenhill was a huge inpact on me. All of Leonard Ravenhill's books are impacting though.. Sodom had no Bible.. there are many others.. _________________ Josh Parsley

| Re: | | I agree Ravenhill is very good, Revival Prayers is an excellent book. I'm working my way through the Power of Prayer by R.A. Torrey. Aruthur Pink is a good one also. Stay with the classics! And be careful, there is alot of bad stuff out there, I run a bookstore. _________________ David

| Re: Which book to buy? | | Oswald Chambers... anything. 'Abandoned to God' comes in real close to your price range.
They have a real good price on the Book/CD combo (Complete Works) if you want to chip in a few bucks...
Anything Tozer...
Depending on where 'your heads at'...
Ravi Zacharias (Can Man Live Without God) Francis Schaeffer (The God Who Is There)
Brother Andrew (Gods Smuggler) Outstanding!
"Deeper Experiences of Famous Christians" by James Gilchrist Lawson (Bunyon, Wesley, Whitefield, Muller, moody.....)
T. Austin Sparks
Just throwing them out there...

| Re: Which book to buy? | | Hello,
Praise the Lord. I would strongly suggest the following books which will edify you in the walk with the Lord. 1) Pilgrim's progress by John Bunyan 2) Saints Everlasting Rest by Richard Baxter or 3) Chrisitian Disciplines by Oswald Chambers
