Hey there Mike,I am learning a bit about how you think and I believe you might like this series. You probably know that there are 3 main views of Revelation. PreterismHistoricismFuturismNeither one of them ever really resonated with me. But Christocentric Triumphalism does resonate with me very much. I like how James Fowler dealt with this through Scripture. I witness much more to this than the other 3. If you are interested here it is. QUOTE:"Instructive article. I can think of no instance of where Jesus engaged in the higher or literary criticisms of modern Christians. If anyone had the right, it would have been him. Today, many Christians, especially those who rarely if ever search their bibles, assert their competency to downgrade the scriptures to a mere supplementary text to their own spiritual insights. Indeed, some assert this right to downgrade scripture by virtue of the Holy Spirit living in them! No wonder many of us are blown about by every wind of influence."Amen, brother! To challenge the authority of 'thus saith the LORD' is to open ourselves up to relativism. A person must allow the WORD to shape us or we will be ground to powder.

If Jesus is true and his resurrection is true and if indeed he was Son of God then the entire Bible is true, because he believed in all the scriptures. Now that we are in new covenant, when we read the old covenant (Old Testament), we need to read it under the influence of Holy Spirit. We do not live according to letter but the spirit which is much higher standard than letter covering all the requirements of Law and much more. So when we read OT, understanding the spirit behind the words by the power of Holy Spirit then we do well and there will be no confusion. But the problem is modern day scholars lack Holy Spirit, they cannot recognize him like how Jesus said. So everything written in OT is a myth and stories according to them.
