You think remembering all the blessings that GOD gave to the pilgrims at Thanksgiving is the worship of demons? I know full well the history of the other holidays you mentioned but Thanksgiving was started and kept to give "thanks and praise" to GOD for HIS provision and care.

KrispyKrittr....you make this sound like it's something new, it's not.

No, actually I was pointing out that this is the same old rediculous stuff we have to endure on this forum every single year that I've been a member here (2006 I believe). Someone who is well-intentioned, yet believes that legalism is next to godliness comes here and causes great division among the brethren over something as stupid as whether or not Christians should participate in Christmas.

Here's the deal... if it bothers YOUR conscience then dont do it. To YOU it is sin.

If it does not bother YOUR conscience, then participate unless it causes another brother to stumble. Keep in mind that I can not think of anyone in my life who MY keeping of Christmas would cause another to stumble.

I rebuke you for bringing this debate to this forum.

If you want to share your reason for not celebrating then please do so... but when you sit in judgement of others for not following you in your legalism, you have crossed the line... and frankly it's a sin.

Thanksgiving is the worship of demons?? Seriously? Singing songs like "O Little Town of Bethlehem" or "Joy To The World" is worshipping demons?

Is it any wonder the world sits back and laughs at Christianity when we act and talk like this? Even the heathen and unregenerate know better than this.

Forgive me if this is too harsh, but this whole thing is such a distraction to this forum... but it has become a Christmas tradition of sorts around here. Holly, Christmas Carols, pretty lights... and the Christmas debate.

 Re:

Usually (not always) the pot is stirred up by someone who either is new here, or hardly ever posts anything... and once the thread is locked or the Christmas season passes... we never hear from that poster again.

I refer to them as "Johnny-one-notes".

Hi Krispy

All my own words except the first line in paragraph 2. English is my 2nd language, so I usually type my thoughts in Word, and when the spelling is sorted out, I paste it into the comment box.

Blessings

 Re:

‘Twas the season of Christmas and all through the blogs
The brothers were looking for splinters not logs
Their research all polished, their doctrines all right
Their keyboards all whirled with their new found insight

Their children were safe with this holiday dead
No more visions of satan-clause to dance in their head
No more solstices, sun gods, or masses from Rome
Would ever again secretly defile their home

All grandparents warned not to wrap or to light
If they had any hopes to see grandkids that night
With fervent devotion to testify clear
We’ll have no esteem for this rank christmass cheer

We’re Christians, not pagans the cry must be heard
To think that this season is good is absurd
No more stockings or tinsel or Christmas tree smell,
No more mangers or myths of three wise men to tell

Down with Santa, down with Rudolph, down with holiday ball
We don’t see any merit or good in it all
We’ve studied, we’ve read, we’ve uncovered the story
This is one holiday we’ll no longer give glory

We’re Christians, we’re making our position clear
We touch not, we taste not, this holiday cheer
We’re set apart from all this deceptive glee
We once were deluded but now we can see

And while bashing our brothers with our own conviction
And sitting as judges in our own inquisition
The demons we think it so right to attack
Are happily riding on top of our back
