The Bulls EyeA fire was set, no one knows whereBut deadly ember came from thereBorne high aloft from distant placeNot lacking truth just lacking graceThe seed of fire though so minuteFulfilled a scheme that so astuteIts origin no one could traceThe fire of hell needed no faceBegun a dart in carnal mindIts undiscerning mark did findThe spark to carry by a wordTo unsuspecting soul that heardAnd brothers here and brothers thereFelt the affect though unawareUnwholesome word kept them apartA bulls-eye by one fiery dartmakrothumia

Do appreciate your posts, Brother. These verses keep coming to mind as if The LORD is trying to warn me, over and over again ... or maybe us all.Reading your poem, I thought that the fiery darts only can come from 'strangers'."When He putteth forth His Own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know His voice. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Meand a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers."We pray that "we know not the voice of strangers" and won't follow them, as He said - and won't allow the darts to hit anymore bulls-eyes - if we hear Only Him - The Trust-Worthy One - our Guide & GOOD Shepherd.GOD protect and teach us HIS Voice.GOD Bless you, 'long-suffering/forebearance'.
