I am a prosthetist (I make artificial arms and legs). I have always considered my profession to be part of my Christian Ministry. Making the "lame to walk" has a great appeal and satisfaction. I have had the opportunity through my work to share the Gospel with people that were hurting.

Several years ago I became aware of some people in Northern Thailand that had lost limbs from landmines as a result of the conflict in Burma, were very poor and had no one to help them. They are mostly Buddhist. I told myself that I should go and help them, but I didn't. About a year later I was reminded about them and I told myself that I will go help them, but I didn't.

About 14 months ago God gripped my heart through a sermon preached by my Pastor in Denver, CO and I surrendered to do God's will for my life. I quit my job, sold all my possessions and moved to Thailand about 2 months ago. I am in the process of setting up a prosthetic clinic. I have joined with a Christian Church here. I am trying to learn the language.

In this journey I have been convicted that I am a slave to Christ. A slaves only obligation and responsibility is to obey. A slave does not provide for himself anything and if his master sends him on a mission it is not his responsibility to provide the resources for the mission. It is the Masters responsibility to provide everything his slave needs.

I have been trying to learn to be a slave. In my quest to learn to be a slave I came across a biography of Manley Beasley, Man of Faith, Instrument of Revival. In searching the internet about Manley Beasley I came to this site.

I have joined this site hoping that the sermons here and the discussion can help me to become a mature perfect slave thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

WOW! That is awesome, and I know as a slave words of praise go right to your/our Master! Welcome to SI, I appreciate your testimony it is very encouraging to me.

One sermon that I highly recommend is Ten Shekels and a Shirt by Paris Reidhead.

I look foward to future fellowship with you!

God Bless,
Matthew
